Maybe I'm recollecting wrong, but I thought I saw a pic somewhere where the Sideshow Luke figure had a 'post Wampa attack' headsculpt. Am I remembering correctly, or am I thinking of something else?

This might be out anytime now in Hong Kong. Does this come with one head sculpt - with cap and scarf etc and a removable hairpiece - or an uncovered head sculpt and a hatted head sculpt? Just wondered if anyone had seen it in an SDCC video or whatever.

Two head sculpts. Three for the exclusive.

If I were Sideshow I'd have a worldwide embargo placed on items until they reached their own warehouse in the US and began to ship, making sure orders placed directly with them were absolutely the first to ship. Can you imagine Apple hardware shipping within China before making its way to corporate HQ in the US?

Maybe the Han we'll see in a few weeks, but this figure was scheduled for March. R2 was planned for January so it's not shocking he's showing up.

*is scheduled* for March, but "was" scheduled for October 2014. None of the union/strike stuff at the port of LA have anything to do with the original delays on any of the Hoth stuff nor R2 either, that's only possibly pushing them out a bit more - but it's doubtful all that stuff is already on a boat. They've had so much stuff pushed out in all their lines that I have to believe there was some occurrence/event/circumstance in their production facilities/situation that prompted it.

If you want to shoot for the sky in hopes and wishes, pray that Sideshow has overhauled their production or possibly taken time/space at whatever factories Hot Toys has traditionally used to make sure these things actually come out looking as good as the prototypes. That would be something I'd give them major props for, even with months of additional delay.

I just mean maybe we'll see a random figure pop up like we've seen with R2, at this point Han (Feb) is now listed as arriving to SS before R2 (Feb-Mar) but that probably means nothing at this point.
The Han "early production" figure didn't look bad but definitely anxious to see pics of all these figures. Maybe they don't plan to step it up until X-Wing Luke.

Well despite the complaining in the other forum, the final Snake Plissken figure doesn't look that far off at all from the preview pics (aside from the usual slight drop in quality of the paintjob, which we see with every figure). And most importantly, the head didn't come out badly deformed and over-simplified like the Drake at all.

So I don't really see what there is to worry about with these new SW figures. Especially considering that Sideshow has been producing these things forever, and (as far as I can tell) has a pretty damn good track record with them.

Amazing that with a repaint, even the somewhat doll-like features on that old SSC Solo provide a (far) better likeness than Hot Toys' new figure. ;)

It is Han... and it isn't. It's a fat embalmed Han. But yet, better that than Hot Toys sculpt of Garry Shandling with straight hair. Still not something I'd spend money on.

Sideshow ought to use that int heir advertising: 'At our best, slightly better than Hot Toys worst.'

Catchy slogan, I think it's similar to something Pepsi used to use back in the day. ;) But that's not remotely close to Sideshow's best and Han isn't anywhere near Hot Toys worst. Their Han is probably just below their average.

The HT vs. Sideshow mentality reminds me of Marvel vs. DC people - like anyone who's serious about collecting comics only buys from one company.
