Yes the strike may be over, but there are a lot of ships waiting to be off-loaded...it'll still take time to catch up, but at least the flow should get back to a regular schedule soon....

It would be cool to see a time-lapse of just Sideshow's cargo being unloaded. ;)

I disagree that the prototype puts the Hot Toys Luke to shame. It's good but I wouldn't go that far and with how iffy Sideshow's sculpts turn out I wouldn't be praising them yet. The Hoth Han is decent but not a knock out and I expect this will be about the same.

For me. Miles better.

About 'praising them', I clearly said proto and to wait to see how production turns out for that very reason.

It's always subjective isn't it? I don't see Luke in Sideshow's sculpt, I agree HT Bespin Luke is problematic but at least I see Hamill there. The hatless sculpt looks like a British parliamentarian, Rory Stewart!

Wonder why this hasn't appeared in Hong Kong yet?

I think that both sculpts look like him but I think the main thing that sort of throws off the Hot Toys Luke is the hair. Although to me in person it looks better than it does in the context of the photo you posted. I have the Hoth Luke on order and I do like the way it looks in general but I was just pointing out that Sideshow's prototype quality doesn't always translate so well to their final product.

Neither one is perfect, but I far prefer the Sideshow Luke. To me the face on the HT has always looked way too chiseled or over-idealized or... something. Not really sure what.

The Sideshow seems to capture his boyish, fresh-faced look in that movie a bit better, I think.

The Bespin Luke HT sculpt suffers the same idealized issues that pretty much stand as Hot Toy's signature, even though it comes off a lot better than many other of their efforts. The sculpt's effectiveness in portraying the likeness can be greatly influenced by light and shadow, as much in person as in a posted photo.

I have the clean face with wet hair on the clean body set up in a duel with Vader with bottom lighting (Cloud City Gantry) and I don't think it looks like Hamill at night when the shadows are very top-heavy. During the day the situation is much improved.

FIXED!:lecture

Pretty sure you have it backwards. Prototype Luke was nicer both in sculpt and outfit than production. (Edit: Just double-checked and that pic is definitely the prototype. Pics were never updated to production on Sideshow's site, by the looks of it.) No way production came out better on that one than the prototype. It's one of the few examples of the opposite. That said, I still think it looks better than SSC's Hoth Luke. His face to me looks too doughy and expressionless.
