Finally caught up here. I'm glad to see CB and Rory still despising the Sideshow figures. Par for the course.

Figure looks great from the reviews, can't wait. In hand pics from guys like paramore and stealth should seal the deal for all the doubters, one way or another.

Just watched Wendy's review of this figure.
I have to say it looks wicked cool.
I can't wait to get him.
I hope Sideshow can get him to me before all my snow melts!
We do have over 6 feet so it'll take a while.

Yeah just watched her review too. Cool looking piece, I particularly like the pose of him holding the binoculars.

Great to see you reading the thread before jumping to troll comments directly. ...Oh, wait....

I don't despise anything, I won't speak for CB, or defend his views, I simply think these figures are substandard. That's my opinion, if you can't respect others opinions, might I suggest that an open forum is not the place for you. Its a little sad that you feel so insecure in your own opinions that you feel effected by other people posting theirs.

If you think these are great, cool. I envy you, have fun with them when you get them in hand. Move on, or pop over to the Probe Droid thread, Grevious threads if you want to hear my opinions on other SS releases.

Bye, bye now. :duff

Just saw the DA BOMB SHOW review..thank god the outfit is so easy to remove..should be an easy body to swap with the lean TT from HT as SSC pro body is complete garbage:lecture

Don't love the huge metal Hasbro-like clips both Han and Luke have on their jackets. Han's seems like it's more hidden, but Luke's are a little more visible. HT uses those really small ones (HT Luke had them on jacket and pants) but those do break after a while.

I feel the same way. If it looks too conspicuous in-hand, I might have to replace them with tiny magnet closures.

I haven't bought an SSC figures for a few years. Are they still using "rubber knees" or "ratchet knees" with the Pro bodies?

No they are actually a little stronger in the leg and arm joints but they still seem to have an issue perfecting the hip joints. Still a flopping mess . And the ankles are still too loose but since the Hoth boots are so thick I'm sure it won't matter.

The pro's shoulders are still too thin and flat even for Luke. The thin TT should work great with this. I might have to cut the hand pegs a little. But they shouldn't be an issue.

Oh trust me, I spent the time reading the whole thread. And I respect your opinions, but I just don't feel it's necessary to repeat them over and over. I think I've been around here long enough to know what is for me and what isn't, thanks though. Insecure? Please. I just don't know why people get off on hammering home their opinions into other peoples' minds. State your business and opinion and let it be and move on. I don't ever feel the need to have to repeat myself and get people to see my frame of mind or perspective on a piece.

And at the moment, yes I think these are both great from what I've seen so far. StealthVet and paramore have already taken great pics of Han to show how good he can look on the shelf, not under the microscope. And any video review will look washed out with poor lighting so I'll never go by a screen capture of a youtube video to base my judgment on, but what I can tell from the Luke pics and videos so far look great. Are the zoomed in, microscope, macro shots perfect with the eye system? Nope, not at all. But in hand, on a shelf is what I care about and the eyes will look waaaay different than those macro shots will. Our eyes can't achieve that type of focus that close to an object so I'll never worry about a zoomed in pic like that. Plus, the Sideshow figures look far closer to their actors who portrayed them than anything Hot Toys is putting out for Star Wars at the moment. Han? Please. Obi-Wan? It has lots of detail and looks ok for a person, but it's not really Alec Guinness. It's has a worse likeness of Alec than either of these two Sideshow pieces do to their respective actors. The only area it wins out is Hot Toys attention to detail. Not accurate detail mind you, just detail. I'm getting Obi-Wan too for what it's worth as I still think he looks good and I always wanted that figure on my shelf. And ANH Han will most likely remain on order as well, so I don't have a biased opinion towards one company or another.

I like that you like the Probe Droid though :) and I am sorry for grouping you with Captain Britain. That was uncalled for. :lol

On closer inspection, I find that the frontal closures are totally invisible; I just hope the clothes can be removed quickly and easily. The upper body fills-out the clothes nicely... I think this pair will look very nice in-hand. These two will NOT just sit on the shelf; I'm going to take them out and play with them often.

Nice post but last line is brilliant. He is his own special category.

Luke is clearly trying to use the force to open them up. Much to learn, he has.

I kind of agree with you about people like me having a tendency to repeat themselves, but then you do often get people saying 'I love this' over and over too - repetition isn't limited to people making critical comments. And in the case of VAsith, who seems to be obsessed with me, he repeats himself pretty much every time he posts.

You do make a good point about zoomed in shots, the great thing about that video is that you saw it in context as part of a room - where it will be for everyone - rather than dominating a high-res shot and the silhouette of the figure looks fine to me, so yeah, it would look good on a shelf. But, I do also like to pick figures up and look at them closely so I think its valid to discuss close ups.

I don't like being grouped with anyone else either, it dilutes my brand. And God knows, western individualism needs me.
