Re: 1/6th Scale Sideshow TaunTaun (in development)

Definitely a buy! Just got to stay away from the other Star Wars releases now. :yess: Best Luke EVER!

Re: 1/6th Scale Sideshow TaunTaun (in development)

good god! this is unbelievable for sideshow. it really gives me hope that sideshow can actually compete with human characters. fingers crossed that they keep upping their game

Re: 1/6th Scale Sideshow TaunTaun (in development)

Thanks. :rock I won't be jumping off any bridges any time soon, but it's good to know I have a follower. :lol

I might get some backlash from the Hot Toys fans, but if the production piece looks like that, I don't think we need Hot Toys versions of anything Star Wars anymore. Sideshow's got it covered, I'd say.

They seem to be getting more impressive with every release. I love the Bespin Luke though.

Re: 1/6th Scale Sideshow TaunTaun (in development)

I am big on natural realistic poses, I love how they accurately captured Luke on the Taun Taun .....win...

We'll still need them to mop up the old $50 figures, but I think you're absolutely right.

And thank you for not making me jump off a bridge. :lol

Re: 1/6th Scale Sideshow TaunTaun (in development)

They did deliver on this one. If they can convey this quality thru production, we may well have the best Star Wars 1:6 offer ever indeed.

Re: 1/6th Scale Sideshow TaunTaun (in development)

Going to look great on my shelf, have th dewback and no regrets there th detailing on this looks even better

Re: 1/6th Scale Sideshow TaunTaun (in development)

Amazing! Gonna need to find a spot for Luke & tauntaun. Look fantastic together, hope its paint looks that good in production.

Re: 1/6th Scale Sideshow TaunTaun (in development)

This might be my first Star Wars sideshow statue!

Re: 1/6th Scale Sideshow TaunTaun (in development)

will someone at sdcc ask the ssc peeps to get the low down on the taun tauns if in fact one comes with two heads?

Re: 1/6th Scale Sideshow TaunTaun (in development)

Here's what I want to know about these latest SW reveals.

1. SSC Tauntaun - does it come with both heads?
2. SSC new product - when will each go up for pre-order? When is the expected production/ship date?
3. SSC - ballpark pricing (if it's determined before show ends)?
4. SSC - any details on pack-ins and accessories for newly shown 1/6 figures? Stuff not shown in the diorama.
5. SSC Luke & Han - are the hoods/hats/goggles removable?

Re: 1/6th Scale Sideshow TaunTaun (in development)

Hood and scarf, definitely. But caps and goggles seem less likely. The strap on Luke's goggles feed into his cap, which is plastic. Not much point to removing a cap if there's nothing under it.

Re: 1/6th Scale Sideshow TaunTaun (in development)

The googles are definitely made with elastic which can be seen in the images - I have no doubts they're functional and can be placed over the faces.

Han is also seen in the movie predominantly without any kind of head wear, so it would be a shame not to be able to pose him that way. I'd also expect him to be fully clothed under the coat, able to be posed without it as well. That's Hot Toys level quality.

Re: 1/6th Scale Sideshow TaunTaun (in development)

Tauntaun looks badass. But no articulation = no place for it on my shelf. I am disappointed.

I posted this in the Hoth Luke thread:

Looks like the head gear is plastic and goes on in two pieces: an upper half and a lower half. You can see a seam near his temple and close to the visor.

What do you mean no articulation? He can look left while showing a short horn, grow his horn and look more straight, then he can flop his head right off in his compact headless mode. ;)

My biggest gripe is it doesn't have real fur - but that might have turned out a little too life-like and creepy, like a stuffed rodent.

Re: 1/6th Scale Sideshow TaunTaun (in development)

good god that taun taun looks incedible. sideshow is hitting homeruns at sdcc with their SW stuff! simply incredible stuff! I already knew I was gonna get the taun taun from the teaser pic when it was initially shown on their facebook page, but now....its sealed with certainty.
