I would have to agree. The sculpt is outstanding however the paint itself could be a bit more on the smoother side as stated. Looking at recent photos its a bit distracting from the overall masterpeice.

I agree. Even your paint apps is leagues ahead of this. The paintwork in this makes me think Rocky Balboa has been at him.

What I love about it is it really looks like dried up caked on make up. As it should be.

Congrats Nic, looks brilliant!

I agree, Boot25 is a personal favourite of mine but i have to say this is a league of its own!

The paint apps are incredible, perfect Joker!

Love your sig neo thats awesome!!!

Could someone pm me pics of the packaging pleeeease, since i'm not expecting the head anytime soon :lol

Hi Guys, Glad you like it, I can make the makeup as smooth as glass,
but the funny thing is , when you you have it in hand , none of those small flaws show.

I would have to agree here as well.

But it's still epic, and like the best Joker head ever.

Lol I'm sorry but as good as small studios joker paint ups are - this is in a totally different league

Your right this is in a totally different class. Its silicon and a different beast all together. Im sure it takes paint differently then most 1:6 scale sculpts. I love Bobbys work and there is no denying that its a great peice of work. I am a trained artist and just pick up on small details like that. Up close shots will def bring out minor flaws that the naked eye wont pick up.

:lecture:lecture:lecture

Its not meant to look perfect, he never once looked perfect in the film, it looked amateurish the way he applied his makeup in the film and Bobby has illustrated this perfectly in each individual piece in my opinion

Yeah it has caked/cracked kind of realistic makeup look but that's what's so cool about it. Bobby was telling me that those bumps etc don't show up to the human eye in hand anyway. You gotta remember in the flesh, this thing is barely 2-3 thumbnails in size. The detail for 1/6th is just - unspeakable! If you wanted to, you could probably give it a little fine sand/smoothing to get it glassy smooth anyway, but is that really realistic? When you watch the film in Bluray you can see the really textured look up close

BTW-Neo. ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHH that looks soooooo bloody insane :D Mine is a little thin/worn but not so messy. Kind of wish it was though seeing as how cool that looks LOL!

One more time?....... YES!!!

This perfectly sums it up to me. To be honest I was thinking the same. Having a Joker head painted by Josh that I truly love and enjoy almost everyday since I got it, this paint style was totally new to me and at the beginning I wasnt sure if I liked it. However I have become used to it meanwhile and I really start to love it as much as the clean style. The style Bobby used here wouldnt work for a HT head I believe but it suits this one quite well and as Josh already mentioned big pics bring out the small flaws. Just look at the first pics of the Proto they looked totally different to the later shots. Light, cam, background, flash and so many other things will make them always look different.
Every artist, no matter if Josh, Les, Elvis or Bobby or who else will always bring their own style and partly their own interpretation of the character into their customs and this is what makes these pieces so amazing. I really love these different takes on my favorite comic villain combined wit one of my favorite actors.
The only thing that I am really thinking about are two minor spots that I hope mine will not have however I wont tell Bobby because I dont want to ruin the magic while painting.:lol
Summed up I really need to buy something from Elvis.:hi5:
