I wonder if they'll be a set or sold separately. They won't cost much less for Sideshow to make, since their clothes are a bit more complicated then the big guys (vest > tunics.) Either way, I'm please to see them, especially Sam.

Re: Get ready to eat your hat...

I was looking at that silhouette and thinking - wow, that's obviously Sam and other profile definitely looks like Frodo! But wouldn't Frodo have the small pack and Sam the big pack? Doesn't the one in the lead look a lot like Sam?

I think you are right Dave. Sam is in the front and Frodo is by Aragorn.. How weird that they would mix up their pack backs.

A two-pack of Hobbits.

I know :rock

I really like SW. Its such an enjoyable ride despite what some feel about the PT or whatever. I enjoy the hell out of collecting it and adding new pieces 2 my collection. However, I LOVE LOTR and seeing/knowing we're gonna get great stuff like this or the GTW PF really makes me smile. It will be so great @ SDCC 2 see all these new LOTR pieces.

ooh! that's exciting. glad to see the smaller scale figure. those likenesses already look stellar in profile (and no, they aren't mine :D I had nuffin' to do with it)

I wouldn't imagine we'll see a mark-up because of the new bodies. The Leia body seems drastically different and it didn't alter the price. Since they will be using these quiet a bit I imagine the R&D cost will just get spread out amongst the different figures.

And for different heights (like Gimli being taller) I imagine they could use extenders similar to what Medicom does. Hopefully when they do Gollum they paint the body... he'd be pretty sad if he was all shiny and clean :lol

So do you not get any information outside of what they assign to you? I would think a little communication between the other sculpter's projects would be necessary (like companion pieces such as Frodo and Sam or Luke and Vader, if they are not done by the same artist) from time to time.

Sam does look like the front Hobbit. He should be the one by Aragorn though right, since he helped with Bill and all. BTW, I hope we see some horses too.

I'm just in the know on what I'm working on. I really don't have inside info on anything outside of that. I had no idea this had been developed! looks great

I'm also excited to see the hobbits announced. I can't wait to finally get the fellowship in the 12" figures. I hope the accessories and the exclusives go over and beyond our expectations.

Man that is one sweet pic - Awesome news! I'm more excited about this than the Bespin Luke announcement!

The Hobbits may look a tad too tall, but it really seems negligable to me. I don't think the discrepency is significant to anyone but those of us who really pour over all the details.

I can't wait to see how Sideshow handles "The One Ring" as one of Frodo's accessories.

I hope we're in for some more announcesments as SDCC progresses.

We're more than half way to the entire followship, can't wait. Please, oh please don't make Pippin or Merry in anything but their hobbit clothes, thank you Sideshow.:D

I dont know what people are talking about but the one in the back is Sam and the one in the front in Frodo.

That's what I was thinking, the HS shadow of the front looks very Frodo-like, the back one doesn't scream that it's Sam, that you have to kinda surmise, but I see Frodo in the front character.

So what is coming next from you? I know, I know, you can't talk about it. It's just that I got my Crack of Doom recently and lets just say I'm a Trevolver sculpt fan now. Great job man, really impressive piece, I can't wait to see what's next.

OK, you can now go back to discussing the mathematics of Hobbit sizes.:D

from left to right, aragorn, samwise (large backpack with cooking utensils gives it away), boromir, legolas and frodo (long cloak).
