Very odd that there's no mention of the materials.

Wondering if that means it hasn't been decided yet, or its vinyl and they want to avoid a backlash

This is why I disagree with Irishjedi that polystone is the cause of expensive products. They may not even be sure 1)whether it will be polystone and 2)if it is polystone what density they will uses.

If this stuff is all in flux then it was not that big a part of the pricing decision to begin with.

I think the pricing right now is basically a test against collectors to see what they'll bite on.

as for the bulid of this thing, i'm guessing it will be the same as a dinosauria statue. those are a light weight polystone material, but they seemed very sturdy.

You know, you are probably exactly right on this. I just looked at a few of their Dinosaur Maquettes, and they are very similar in weight and price. Interesting.....

this is one of the best SW pieces to come out of SS. A rancor would be even sweeter. That's the only SW piece I would consider, well I'm still waiting on that 1:1 Jawa SS confirmed they were making .

I'm still curious as all of us are to what material the Dewback is made of. Sure was hoping Sideshow would have included the material in the order specs today. Anyway, just placed an order for the Dewback and Sandtrooper at AE.

No NRD so I can cancel and get it somewhere else for a bit less.

I wish SS would let me swing by to pick it up -- would balance out the CA tax and make me more apt to buy through SS here in Cali.

Have some updates for everyone! The estimated shipping weight for this piece has been changed. It is actually estimated to be 27 lbs and not 7 lbs. The materials being used to create this piece are: Poly-resin/stone, and cut/sew elements (for the saddle bags, saddle, etc).

I see their description that it's a Dewback "Sculpture" - I guess that's why there's no articulation.
