I still think a 1/6 scale rancor would be unworkably huge, but I would like to see it too.

I was thinking that today, but the Dewback is pretty much the equivalent of a Premium Format figure. Using that as a basis of scale, the Rancor would be like a life-sized bust so it's totally not out of the question, I think. Well, it is from a price-point perspective for me :)

Yeah but neither of those have any implied expectations of articulation...a chair is a chair...a platform is a platform.

Although this is cool, it had so much potential to be 1000% better. And while this looks miles ahead of the Hasbro DB, it ends up only being marginally better due to the lack of articulation.

I would venture to guess that is primarily what separates the 1/6th scale collectors from the statue collectors...the desire to have articulation and poseability options :huh

I'm kind of torn by this. As a "statue" I think it will look pretty damn good. But as a 1/6 scale figure accessory I think it's a little questionable.

Exact feeling here.:(

Hi All,

Have some updates for everyone! The estimated shipping weight for this piece has been changed. It is actually estimated to be 27 lbs and not 7 lbs. The materials being used to create this piece are: Poly-resin/stone, and cut/sew elements (for the saddle bags, saddle, etc).

HOLY *tic* SHREW! 27 lbs!

Despite the fact that this is the first Sideshow 1:6 Star Wars piece that I have zero interest in getting, I seriously appreciate your efforts to get us the information we are curious about. Thank you very much!

If Sideshow continue this practice we did be seeing furry Tauntauns made of stone....:(

I wouldn't think its a matter of 1:6 collectors not openning up to new concepts but rather collecting 1:6 figures is about playablilty.

A piece of solid rock isn't much fun to play with.

I pulled the trigger on a deluxe Sandtrooper and ordered it.

Having ordered the Stormtrooper PF as well that's all I could swing.

Glad, I didn't buy that old sandtrooper last week instead I went for Medicoms Boba Fett ROTJ which is awesome.

As far as the Sandtrooper: why would SS think people would pay $40 more for this one than the retailer exclusive version.....without anything new to offer?

The black pauldron one can still be found for $91 plus shipping

I too am puzzled at the reason that this the new Sandie costs so much. There isn't much of a difference aside from a bunch of weapons. It's not like they had to sculpt anything new.

Awesome! :yess: Ordering one! I'm hoping it'll fit in well with the new SW maquette line, which I'm interested in.

I feel the same way, I'd gladly pay 1:1 bust prices for a 1/6 Rancor. I would prefer it to be vinyl so it would not weigh a ton and maybe at least basic shoulder and wrist articulation.
