Then there should be no "other" forum or "sandbox" forum. There should be figure forums and figure forums ONLY.

I don't see the problem with discussing anything as long as it's kept civil. The problem is the non-belief side usually has to resort to name calling most of the time.

I believe he was referring only to threads in the 'Collectibles' sections of the board, not the "sandbox" section. In the same way, thoughts on Michael Jackson's life are not so welcome in a thread for a Jackson figure but better made in the "sandbox" section. Just the same, back-and-forth about your opinion of a film is generally not so welcome in a thread about a figure from that film.

It seems to me a fine way to go, thinking about it now...

:slap So I guess the irony is completely and utterly lost on you that you are using an Israeli flag as your personal icon, yet are contrasting "non-believers" with "people who try to follow Christ".

Jews, whether practising or all wicked, secular types with our "fleshly, worldy desire",...not so big on the Jesus, well except for this guy:

There is no irony.

Says God about Israel

And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed

why, is it because he's black? you want your crew cut JC. why cant i have a black one, with long hair.:dunno

Jesus was a Jew. He wasn't black or white.

I also think he's saying it's "bad" due to the "black Jesus" and "yo" remarks.

why, is it because he's black? you want your crew cut JC. why cant i have a black one, with long hair.:dunno

Because Jesus was not a Black man...He was Jewish

If you want a proper and Scripturally done Jesus figure...He should look similiar to the Max Von Sydow Version in the Greatest Story Ever Told

The company thats making these are producing these based on the Bible...not by how YOU want it! So your Black Jesus wont happen :)

no offense to women, but the Men in the Bible do have greater stories, greater feats in the books of the Bible.....Woman played some role...but not like the chosen Men of God

in Fact, why was Women acursed having to bare children and given Rule under Men? Because of Eve..who Fell first (Satan spoke to Eve first). This is Scriptural.....

What are you LOL'g at? You were the one that said the above. I was just wanting you to clarify. :dunno

They should just name this "White Christian Men of Faith" because it seems even Moses has so be shown as depicted by an Aryan Christian superman like Charlton Heston.

A short, swarthy Moses, looking remarkably like an actual Sephardic Jew, would not appeal to the 'right' people.

EDIT:

If you want a proper and Scripturally done Jesus figure...He should look similiar to the Max Von Sydow Version in the Greatest Story Ever Told

UFB. So Jesus also has to be a blonde, Northern European Christian to pass muster with you. Just go back to worshiping Thor, I'm sure you will be much happier.

Actually, from the company perspective it's "What's going to sell?"

Simply put, most people have seen TTC and since we have no actual way to know exactly what Moses looked like they based it off of a popular movie. Not based off of the "right people".

Pretty much. I'm buying it because it looks like Heston from TTC. A short 80 year old Middle Eastern man from someone's personal idea of what Moses "must have" looked like would be out of place in my collection of classic movie figures.

Not sure if anyone would care, but I thought this was great!

A new Company in Hong Kong is producing a 12" Bible Heroes Men of Faith Line for anyone interested...The first is Moses and is available Now! (has a slight ressemblance to charlton Heston)

link to pics Moses- Let my people Go!

This looks great. Thanks for the heads-up, teemu. I'm definitely interested to see where this line goes.

wow! this is looks good!! I hope our other collections will be blessed and repent their sins

I have been saving this picture for the right occasion:

Something about the insanity in this thread told me 'this is the time'.

But the Figure is a BIBLICAL Figure, which the next Figure scheduled is Jesus...I believe the topics discussed here are quite appropiate in regards to the Figures itself

I want my 12" Jesus having Short hair like the Bible teaches

whats so wrong about that? :1-1:

I've never deeply considered the length of Jesus hair. :dunno:lol If the company does get as far as making a Samson figure though, he best have nice long hair (at least that's how I want mine, the before the haircut version).

yes, he was a Jew. but we dont see JC's poster pics as of jewish decent now do we. so i dont see the relevance of that argument.

would it even bother you if i'll swap out and bash a muscle body on mine?

OK guys, can we please try and keep this to discussions about the figure rather than questioning each others faith or lack of it.

Historical discussion about how we believe the figure/Moses should look (based on documented archeological findings) is of course fine.
However we can see here what they have decided to go with is the more romanticised European Iconic art look, which is influenced by (often commisioned paintings + statues) by the likes of Rembrandt, Bourdon and Michaelangelo. Hollywood took its aesthetic and ideal of the Biblical characters from these works of art.
Any way, play nice, or be smited down!

Well said bro! :exactly:

Awesome looking figure, but I'm not sure I want to own Biblical action figures. On the one hand it makes sense to devote a display to something much greater than Star Wars or any fictional movie. On the other hand I still think it'd be kind of weird. Like having action figures of my grandparents or kids. :lol

Just because I love the subject matter doesn't mean I want it made into collectible toys.

Movie based Biblical figures (The Ten Commandments, etc.) make more sense to me.
