My point was that he was using the stand your ground law as a defense... and yes I do know the damn law... and I was not trying to inflame people or push politics... I just wanted to share and see what you guys had to say.

I'm done... I didn't say anything that deserved any of the comments about me or the jumping to conclusions about what I meant by it. I said I was finished with this thread, but I just wanted to clarify my position for Devil so he understood why I posted the link.

As for your point about knowing the "damn" law, how does a crazy guy misusing the law as defense for a cold blooded killing in any way make the law flawed?

No... I just don't have the ability to come on here and express what I think when I am going against 5 or 6 people at the same time without losing my temper. It's a losing situation, so I don't want to stay in the thread if I am going to go off and end up with an infraction.

I'm done talking about this. That's all.

It would be like having to stop for a pedestrian in a crosswalk. If a pedestrian decides to cross the street but not at a crosswalk it doesn't give the driver the go ahead to run the person over.

So far I have heard of exactly two cases where the shooters claim of "stand your ground" was challenged. The first was the Travon Martin case, which was highly sensationalized through biased media, and the one you posted. In the first instance, it seems as if the actual evidence of the case supports the claim of stand your ground. In the one you posted, I don't think there is a sane person in the US that would see it as being even remotely possible of being a justified shooting.
