My point was that he was using the stand your ground law as a defense... and yes I do know the damn law... and I was not trying to inflame people or push politics... I just wanted to share and see what you guys had to say.

I'm done... I didn't say anything that deserved any of the comments about me or the jumping to conclusions about what I meant by it. I said I was finished with this thread, but I just wanted to clarify my position for Devil so he understood why I posted the link.

But you guys can have the thread... enjoy bullying people with other opinions and making poo jokes.. it's all yours. :lol

I gotta ask. Is your go to response for whenever anyone disagrees with you or calls you post into question to say your going to leave the thread? How many times have you said that in this thread alone?

If you have a point you want to make then feel free to make it and deal with the people who are going to disagree with you. Everyone else in this thread has managed to do that just fine.

As for your point about knowing the "damn" law, how does a crazy guy misusing the law as defense for a cold blooded killing in any way make the law flawed?

Your words:

But cases like this show that the law is severely flawed and needs to be amended

by the same premise, can I run you over with my car if I claim I was following the speed limit and had my seat belt on? If I claimed I followed all auto laws in my killing of you with my car, would you in turn call for the severely flawed auto laws to be amended, or would you say that I'm a ******* for thinking it was ok to run you over?

Thanks for humoring me.

For the record, I have no intention of bullying you out of here. Even though I think you're completely wrong, discussing your point of view and having to articulate why I think it's wrong is worth a hell of a lot more than watching the monkeys play with ____.

Personally, I'm losing my stomach and patience for the combustibility in here. I guess we can't all be Darth Cruel.

No... I just don't have the ability to come on here and express what I think when I am going against 5 or 6 people at the same time without losing my temper. It's a losing situation, so I don't want to stay in the thread if I am going to go off and end up with an infraction.

I'm done talking about this. That's all.

And Devil... I wasn't talking about you specifically... :stick

It would be like having to stop for a pedestrian in a crosswalk. If a pedestrian decides to cross the street but not at a crosswalk it doesn't give the driver the go ahead to run the person over.

whats the over/under on how long it takes DA to come back? :wave

About how long it would take you to make a snide comment on it. :exactly:

yeah I thought so. I did encourage you to stay and back up your opinions. You seem to think storming off makes you seem more enlightened. It only works though if you don't keep popping back on every five minutes. :stick

Still waiting for you to explain how does a crazy guy misusing the law as defense for a cold blooded killing in any way make the law flawed?

I'm not playing your game.

No matter what I say, no matter what I back it up with... It won't change anything. You guys won't back down off of your opinions, nor will I change mine. So why the _____* should I come on here and act as target of the week.

(btw... The law being flawed thing is my opinion... and I just think it must be clarified so that people stop trying to use it as a reason to murder others.)

then go. But you know your going to pop up again 5-10 pages later and make a comment, and then storm off when someone disagrees with you.

As for your opinion about the law, do you really think there are scores of people out there who are shooting up their neighborhoods in the name of stand your ground? So far I have heard of exactly two cases where the shooters claim of "stand your ground" was challenged. The first was the Travon Martin case, which was highly sensationalized through biased media, and the one you posted. In the first instance, it seems as if the actual evidence of the case supports the claim of stand your ground. In the one you posted, I don't think there is a sane person in the US that would see it as being even remotely possible of being a justified shooting.

so the next time you decide to pop in and grace us with your opinions I would love to know how the Stand Your Ground law is flawed and exactly how to fix it.

Whatever man.. I'm not going to try to debate you. And you won't see me in this thread in 5 or 10 pages... I honestly don't give a crap what you or anyone else thinks. Have fun debating amongst each other. :wink1:

Glad you read it!

it was a great read. I wish the media would cover a lot more of that then the other stuff they are running.
