Re: 19 years . . . today.

IMHO the best sequel ever made...Some tough competition but this one takes it.

Re: 19 years . . . today.

I also think T1 is a better film but I have no issue with T2 being more iconic and remembered. T2 is certainly better for figures and other merchandise. I really want T1 stuff but I will probably buy less of it than I have T2 stuff.

The only Terminator film I've seen in the cinema is T3! Was too young for the first two and too cynical about T4.

better than Empire Strikes Back? better than Godfather Part 2? Dark Knight? Road Warrior?
i'm starting to think Terminator fans have no perspective.

Re: 19 years . . . today.

Saw it in the theater with my Brother. And tbh even back then both me and him thought Edward Furlong was annoying. I like everything about the movie minus Eddy and his high pitched, girlie, whiny voice. THAT makes the movie almost unwatchable for me.

Re: 19 years . . . today.

This is true.

I was a bit young to see this in the theater, but saw it soon after it came on video and enjoyed it back then. It really shouldn't have been rated R, IMO. Nowadays it would probably be PG-13.

Yer just mad because people love a film you hate.

Yes, better then TDK. Easily.

:clap :exactly: I knew I wasnt the only one that thought that! In american History X he's supposed what 18? and he sounds like a 12 year old girl!

Did I not state there's tough competition?

The Dark Knight should not be included in this discussion. Road Warrior is up there but also not complete enough to be considered the BEST. You are on the $$$ with empire strikes back & Godfather 2, however you forgot ALIENS.

It's personal preference but T2 for me is IT. It's one of most groundbreaking films pf all time. A perfect balance of drama, sci-fi, action, horror and suspense. We can argue all day long, but NO ONE in the world will convince me there's a better sequel than Terminator 2: Judgement Day

Re: 19 years . . . today.

Godfather II is tops on my list (sequels) with T2 a close 2nd. To be honest though, there really is no reason to compare the two films ........... GF2 and T2 that is. Two completely different types of movie.

nah, i don't hate it. i've just seen other movies that aren't in the Terminator franchise.

i didn't forget Aliens, it's fun action pseudo-scifi by itself but it's a lousy sequel.
T2 is definitely a better sequel than that.

that's what i meant about perspective. anyway, whatever floats your boat.

I agree with that one. There were many times I wished Arnold would have gone back to his original programing and "accidently" killed him.

Re: 19 years . . . today.

The first time i went to see T2 was for my 11th birthday with about eight other friends from school, my father took us and it was one of the most exciting memories from my childhood.

Re: 19 years . . . today.

I was 15 when t2 came out in 1991, I went to see it and was blown away ( The Terminator and RoboCop were my faves at the time, DUH.) I won't ever forget how awesome it was to me!:hi5:

Re: 19 years . . . today.

I remember when movies used to attract that many people. The last movie I went to that sold out was......believe it or not, "Wild Hogs". Even Avatar wasn't sold out when I saw it and I always go the Sunday after the Friday it firsts starts.

I remember waiting in long lines to see movies, like the Jurassic Park ones. Now there's barely a third of the theater full when I go.

Thats because movies are shown on many many more screens nowadays.

Good film. Thought the effects were fantastic at the time. Still, it is basicly just a remake of T1 with a bigger budget. T1 kills it imo, but i'm old. I saw THATmovie in the theater. Had nightmares afterwards. I miss that Arnie. Before "Twins" messed him up. Made him soft.

NO WAY. With the amount of blood and f-bombs in it, there is no way this film would be PG-13 today. Now if you said that if it came out today, they would cut it for a PG-13, that I'd believe. I never understand when people say an R rated movie twenty or so years ago would be PG-13 today when if anything they are more strict with the content they put in PG-13 films.
