I have been watching the replays of the Goal, and the ball hardly swerves at all. The Keeper just misread it. I guess it's just down to the pressure of the big game.

They took down their flags because they didn't win?

:cuckoo:

Yep, that's how patriotic most of these "fans" really are.

Most of 'em probably spend the rest of the year complaining about the state the country is in but whenever there's a football tournament they're shouting from the rooftops about how great we are and how no other team stands a chance.......................until the inevitable happens and things go pear shaped, then the flags vanish and all the drunken chanting of "Ingerland" is replaced with racist comments about whoever beat them and tearful mumbling about 1966.

It's all rather sad really.

Ghana-Serbia was a good one allthough with the fast paced first half i expected to see more goals.

I don't really follow soccer...or football or whatever you want to call it but I was watching the news this morning about the England vs USA game. There was a lady on there from England making all these excuses about the goalie, which whatever that is fine but I wanted to point out to her England didn't score another goal before or after that so it isn't just the goalie.

Yep only us to blame for not scoring more but i must say you guys defended great and your keeper was ace as well. Sometimes it just meant to be.

Also when Heskey was through did any of you uk guys even think he had a chance to score? cos i bloody didn't. :lol

It´s never easy to be a goalkeeper,he makes 1 mistake and he hear about it for months, maybe years later...while an Outfielder can make 20 terrible mistakes but because it doesn´t lead to a goal you don´t care.

:exactly:

They have the hardest job on the pitch for sure. If Heskey knew what a goal looked like Greens mistake wouldn't really have mattered. :gah:

Heskey wouldn't score if the goal was the width of the pitch and the opposition had all been sent off :lol

Funnily enough when Heskey was put through we were like
"He's through... who is it?... Oh it's Heskey... bugger. He'll miss." :lol

How he's still in the team I have no idea. :cuckoo:

I have a feeling its going to be a draw match. The Germans have a relatively young squad. Have they really been tested? I wonder.

Anyway the present Aussie team isn't as good as the one from the last WC.
