Maybe they knew Hot Toys 1/4th were coming and they thought they would turn to a larger scale for PF and smaller scale for comiquette (1/5)? :dunno

I have been saying this for awhile; Sideshow just does not seem as 'with it' as they once did. I know personally they have lost a ton of my business with their piss-poor decisions and primary school QC.

Other than a P1 or Scar Predator, there are no characters that I can imagine dropping $2k on...especially considering that the last Sideshow Ironman "Legacy" piece couldn't manage to get a decent paint app on a 1/4th.

MAYBE a Boba Fett with working lights...

2K are you ____in serious. I'm really starting to think ssc has lost touch with their customers.
Just for myself I was a maybe at $1500, but 2K they're wacked imo

It's disappointing but not surprising. Most of the folks here were predicting 2K for these, it's a few others who were praying that because these were in-house and not Legacy items that they'd be cheaper.

I might pay 2K for a comic Iron Man either the Silver Age version or Modular version, Green Lantern or Boba Fett, but it'll really depend on what else is out at the time and NEVER EVER from Sideshow as the tax and shipping are insane being in CA.

yea, but would you still pay that cash for an open ES piece?

People are gonna flip it like the optimus prime.

pfftt, yea right. If you mean by flipping, losing $500-700, then yea.

So I have the Optimus Prime Exclusive, but I just went to eBay to see the prices for this piece, and the regular is selling at $2K, whilst the Exclusvies range from $3,300 to $5K. Are these prices indicative?!?! Or is this just a handful of sellers maintaining exorbitant asking prices?

Also, with pieces like the Darth Vader 1:1 bust, that are "Limited Edition" - do they ever round off the edition size? I mean, they can't just keep selling them can they? At some point they must assign a total production run number, right? :S

Indicative of what? OP is the only high end Transformer piece out there, there are hardly any big, "quality" (use that term loosly) Transformer products out there. Just imagine how much more expensive the SS Predator maquette would be if CM never made theirs.

Wrong!!!! Look at the B.D endo skull bust. That is classed as a limited edition and SS have been selling those for years. Who knows how many they have made. As for the Vader bust as long as people keep buying him SS will keep selleing them and he will constantly remain on back-oreder.

yea, but even ppl selling their Terminator bust only lose maybe $100 tops and they don't cost 2k, so that's why ppl have never complained about that bust's open ES. We have no idea when SS might close the ES on any of LSF pieces, maybe never, so it takes a lot away from the term collectible when it comes to them.

They also might be seeing that HT and EB will be taking a good chunk of 1/4 business away from them, so they're targeting the smaller CM business and trying to take away their customers with size basically.

2K?!
Maybe SS and I are smoking the same stuff...
Seriously I think these Legendary Scale statues should be no more than $700 - $800 MAX!!
Their PFs are around the $350 mark.

I just don't have the interest in paying for these LSFs at 2K or more. I guess that Sideshow has just dropped the ball too many times in my estimation. We've got so many QC problems that have popped up over the last several years plus the sculpts are off or just plain wrong. And don't even get me started on paint apps. I'd rather buy something from Cinemaquette or EFX or QMX at this juncture than drop 2k or more on something from Sideshow. And I just bought their Optimus Prime maquette as well. I really love that statue but its not worth $1200.00. It's a $800 or $900 statue but not over 1K. And the way they did the exclusivity of the statue really pissed off a lot of collectors. Really wish they would have just offered the swords on every single Optimus statue but that's just me.

i'll stick to 1/4 marvel comiquettes and pf's , i'm only interested in buying the wolf predator lsf but if it costs $2k sideshow can keep it

Do we know for sure the other LSF are 2k, as far as i know it's just darth maul. BTW what light up features would wolvie have, his eyes?

Imagine a LSF of Galactus :horror

Given that Darth Maul is mainly polystone and cloth one would logically assume that 2K is probably the starting point. As the selections get more complicated and require more components they'd be naturally higher. If Wolverine for example has metal claws then I wouldn't be shocked to see him slightly higher than Maul, unless his lightsaber is metal, I can't tell.

I just think this is a good opportunity to consolidate my collection to mainly 2: Hulk and Batman LSF. Sure there will be other smaller but much less statue.

Of course, time will tell if these LSF turn out right.

Nice plan, Hulk, Bats, Spidey and Wolvie for me.

I'm surprised they wouldn't have started the line off with a piece that had an ES, doesn't seem like the best idea. It is a great looking statue in person but man, what a hit to the wallet.

Bats, Joker, Doom & Venom for moi. :wave

But not based on Jim Lee's art, I'd prefer Boland's & with the base a bit higher.

Wolvie doesn't have light up either.

True, but I think people have given too much stock in how much it costs for a tube and some LEDs. The light up function equals higher price doesn't exactly constitute for me higher price especially when Star Wars PF have had light up and non-light up in varying prices both ways.

I've been saying that since July. I really don't know why the price surprised folks. :dunno
