True, but I think people have given too much stock in how much it costs for a tube and some LEDs. The light up function equals higher price doesn't exactly constitute for me higher price especially when Star Wars PF have had light up and non-light up in varying prices both ways.

Yeah, I feel the opposite is true, and that putting a light up significantly increases the production cost especially with today's increasingly hollow featherweight statues.

Judging by the heft and thickness in the shattered 1/4 scale IM maquette, you can see they put quite a bit of polystone to support the wiring as opposed to some of the more lightweight PFs they have churned out recently. Then you have to account for the parts and labor to install the wiring and then making sure the lights work.

It's a moot point really the price is $2K on the first and will probably be around that price for the rest so in reality it's just going into justification mode here

It's very possible Wolvie and the rest of the Legendary Priced Line will be around $2k, but with price fluctuations even between 1/4 scale pieces, especially between the different licences you never know.

A little higher than I thought but not by much. $1500 would have been the sweet spot. Hopefully no one buys Maul, and SS cuts the price a little on the next in hopes of selling more product.

I'm still not sure I want 1/2 statues loitering my house either :lol

I'm totally cool on this line...PERIOD! There will be no justification for me on these at all.

Except for a 1:2 Deadpool. Only reason for that justification is because what I spend to get my Heisman Deadpool made.

Anyone see this as justification for SSC's to raise 1/4th prices up closer to the 400-500 range? I honestly can see this happening, much like oil companies getting folks used to paying 4 bucks for gas, then when it dips to 3.50 a gallon, they think they are getting a deal, when it used to be 3 dollars a gallon. Obviously SSC's doesn't lower stuff, but I think they will use this to raise the bottom price on 1/4th statues. Prime maquette and others have proved folks will pay $1000 for 1/4th scale. So not sure why people are surprised at this.

You might be reading too much into this? :dunno

Maybe, but next year when the average PF is 350 and some break 400, we'll know ;) And Prime is kind of a PF in the sense of scale and is over 3 times a typical PF.

I just don't have the interest in paying for these LSFs at 2K or more. I guess that Sideshow has just dropped the ball too many times in my estimation. We've got so many QC problems that have popped up over the last several years plus the sculpts are off or just plain wrong. And don't even get me started on paint apps. I'd rather buy something from Cinemaquette or EFX or QMX at this juncture than drop 2k or more on something from Sideshow. And I just bought their Optimus Prime maquette as well. I really love that statue but its not worth $1200.00. It's a $800 or $900 statue but not over 1K.

Anytime an item comes out with a 1K+ pricetag, I campare it to my EFX X-Wing. It was $1200 shipped new, and it is flawless. No other company makes things so intricate, and the paintjob is impeccable. Throw in working lights, wings that switch flight positions, Hamill's autograph, and a tiny Luke to sit in the cockpit if desired and there is some pretty good value there.
So how does that compare to tall hollow polystone with poor paint apps and questionable light-up features? Throw in a bland pose and a much higher pricetage - no way would I consider Maul. I would buy the Cinemaquette Vader if they used the movie suit instead of the promo suit, but that also seems to me to be a better value for the item.

well EB and HT will be making poseable 1/4 figures with better paint apps, more realism, and more accessories in that $400 range, so SS would just be pricey themselves out of the 1/4 market for sure.

Not sure I'd want a 1/4 quarter figure. I doubt they'll have the same articulation. And they have a tendency of looking skinny at that scale like that one 1/4 Indy that's been out awhile.

obviously you haven't seen the new T-800 then? My point is that having some articulation has a little more value then a non poseable statue. You throw in better paint apps, QC, and accessories, then you have a much better deal then a static statue at the same price IF SS starts charging $400.

That would be unfair to me if they release him in this scale. I would have to give it some real thought and sleep on that decision.

Deadpool 1:2 = 100% buy

Apocalypse 1:2 = tough, tough decision!:dunno

For me More IM (Classic) 1:2

Batman 1:2 A must have!

Ill take the big three Thor Cap and a comic iron man, after that supes and batman and vader.

Could you imagine receiving a 2k Darth Maul statue with broken horns and then getting that customer service e-mail asking if you'll accept $50 as compensation to keep the damaged statue?

For me a Hulk, Spidey, and Thor would be my wish list, but at $2000 it's going to be very hard to pull the trigger.

and one more thing, you'd think that if ssc is going to charge this much money, we'd at least get unique pose and not a replica to the PF, just larger.:dunno

Well we have to keep in mind as well the balance of the statue plus shipping dimensions that Sideshow has to figure out & with that said I'm guessing that the Wolf Pred would be reasonably light considering his pose.
