Yeah I don't care for any of those figures either especially that Temeura Morrison AT-AT Driver. Get that **** outta here. Actual vintage beats them all. I do like the new Jedi Luke that was part of the 3-pack that will be coming individually carded though.

And TROS and Mando TVC all look great IMO.

That's Temeura Morrison with vintage 70s side burns to you Mr.

And that's not the point. The point is, I guarantee those are considered the "best" of the 3 3/4 versions of those characters and I know A-Dev has em'. My point is, those 6" ones I posted are the best looking action figures of those characters to bare the "Kenner/Hasbro" name to date. Better than the vintage 80s figures too. **** that Bespin Luke with the pee yellow lightsaber. Yeah, people may have nostaliga for them, but they ain't ****. Especially the retro reproduction ones that are coming out.

That new Snowspeeder Luke takes a massive dump on these baby toys,

See I don't think that those are the best looking "Kenner/Hasbro" figures though. If they screw up the joints then for me that ruins whatever they gained in sculpting detail. And if something is gonna win me over that has no link to the vintage era then it has to do better than offer a zero sum net gain.

Even Hot Toys figures have a greater connection with vintage Kenner due to the fact that there really were "large size action figures" back in the day. But 6 inch? Nope. So what else have they got? A $20 price point and slightly improved detail with slightly worse joints and almost no creatures or vehicles? Nah, not for me. At least not yet. If I ever did make an exception I could definitely see it being something like that snowspeeder set though.

I'd hardly call it "slightly improved". Also worse joints? The average 6 inch articulation, especially Star Wars, absolutely blows 3.75 out of the water.

It comes down to preference of how you display. Most people don't have room for their vehicles to go on display. They sit in boxes staying minty but getting 0 love in storage.

6 inch figures have a DRASTICALLY better shelf and display presence than 3.75.

And 9/10 they're better sculpted with better details and paint.

Abd 9.9/10 they have better articulation.

If you have the room to display massive dioramas without looking like a hoarder than yes 3.75 is unbeatable. But otherwise? 6 inch is where its at.

Sleepaway Clone :rotfl

I like both V and 6.

Both give me different feels you know what I mean.

One scratches the nostalgia itch while the other makes me feel like a cool modern man of the times lol

I didn't say articulation I said joints. I just don't like the look of most of them and at least they aren't as noticeable on 3.75 inch.

"Super-articulated" is such a silly term when it comes to SW figures anyway since none of them can achieve half the poses of a 30 year old GI Joe figure.

But whatever. You and DiFabio love 6 inch and the good news for you is that you're Hasbro's primary target collector at this point in time so there you go.

*Luke voice* But it's a whole 'nother scale!

It's only one more scale!

I got 3 3/4", 6" and 12".

There are some must haves in all the scales. You should start small A-Dev. Here's what a recommend. Buy a couple and see what you think. Start with Black Series #43 Vader, #74 Dengar and the Skywalker Strikes Luke.

That was going to be my next argument. If he can get duplicates of the same 7" NECA Terminator and T-1000, then he could definitely get a couple of Black Series here and there. It's a no brainer really. He likes Star Wars and he likes cool, well made action figures.

I'll convert him.

I still don't see that either lol.

Youre either getting these weird 3.75 bulbous joints with extra plastic to reinforce the tiny possible breakage point that looks like tumors

CpV9HwY.jpg

Or

These little nothing barely there joints. That looks like the person is missing their elbows and knees.

X5xI4lE.jpg

3.75 joints almost always look weird in their own way the way 6 inch hips do. You can always tell you're looking at 3.75 by the joints just like 6 inch. But at least the 6 inch joints get range of motion that justifies them lol.

Of which there was nothing from NECA at this show. I fear something terrible has happened....we'd better get on with arguing the merits of 3.75'' VS 6''..

They even dropped the 1/4 scale Terminator apparently. Really thought a 1/4 Steel Mill T-800 and Tech Noir were going to happen. It sucks that the line died after exclusive John and a couple of dumb Kenner variants.

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA.

Look good against Marvel Legends is one thing. Good against vintage Star Wars? That's something else.

I apologize for the wall of the text. I forgot the last time I had the chance to talk this in depth about 3.75 :lol

Snowspeeder and Luke & Dack look amazing but, sorry, I aint touching another scale of Star Wars toy. I've put far too much time and money into 3.75.

I'm also reluctant to take a chance on waiting for clearance for the Slave One having missed this big version twice before it seems. The promo-shots look excellent.

Smart decision. I went down this 6" path and at the end of the road was $700 gone and the figures in the boxes, never to be displayed again. That money could have gone a long ways in grabbing more older 3.75 stuff or more Hot Toys. I regret it and need to sell.

No interest in 6 inch. I'm not sure why they even bothered renewing the license. Maybe they had to in order to keep Marvel.

Must be. No other logical explanation. Outside of a few shock reveals like this Snowspeeder, it seems like the bare minimum is given to the SW line anymore. Go back 10-15 years, the modern golden age of 3.75. We should be in Golden Age Part 2 with the ST, Mando, Clone Wars.... and all we get is 2 figures. One of which I think is a repack.

I also think this is true as well. It does seem like they're trying to kill it. I just don't get the logic behind an $89 Tie Fighter, $100 X-Wing and a $150 Slave 1. That used to be reserved for the BIG vehicle/playsets like the Falcon and AT-AT, not the smaller ships. I can see a price hike with all new vehicles like the Imperial Troop transport or the Imperial assault vehicle, but not these older molds that have been in existence since the 90s and 2000s. Get real.

It's just going to turn off collectors and retailers alike.

There is no real reason to charge that much outside of scamming collectors or getting a valid reason to end the line. They have 3.75 collectors by the balls. Pay these clear scalping prices or have your line die.

Yeah I couldn't believe it. They're awesome.

Then that 90s cartoon Spider-Man on the retro cardback. He looks fantastic!

Had that Spider-Man as a kid. It's awesome they are doing the 90s Spider-Man stuff. Marvel was the lone bright spot from Toy Fair today.

I truly think 6 inch will have the depth of 3.75 and do it in a shorter time.

This won't happen. There are hundreds upon hundreds of unique figures in the 3.75" line. We won't get 25% of that in the Black Series. Go scroll through jedibusiness by movie and see all the unique figures. Hell, just look at all the different Padme's. Those won't happen.

3.75 Star Wars depth will be unmatched by any toy line ever.

If they ever make a Haslab AtAt to go with this SS I swear I will recreate the tow cable scene smack in the middle of my living room fake snow and all lol

Wait why is the 6 inch SS cheaper than the 3.75 S1 :rotfl

I had this done with my 3.75 inch stuff. I had to settle for a smaller Hoth display though, so crashed the snowspeeder.

I disagree. I bet I can find a better 3.75" figure to any 6" figure you want to put up :lol For example, I think this 3.75" Luke is better than that 6" one.

I have had more 6" Star Wars figures break on me in 1 year than I had 3.75" stuff break in my entire time collecting. Those early 6" figures were cheap, terrible joints, bad paint apps.

I disagree about shelf presence too. A proper 3.75 display is amazing to have on your shelf.

Re: 3.75" Collecting Thread

6 inch Hoth Rebel soldier was shown today too. He has two different faces to swap between, scarf and goggles. So you can mix and match the parts to make different unique soldiers for army building

Wow, just found it. These figs are just superb. This is getting toward 1/6 level.

Well, to be fair, those are modern art and pop culture icons (that are endlessly riffed on - even obscure side items like the Imperial Troop Transporter gets the royal homage treatment) more than toys now.
