First Blood is one of my favourite films, always watch it when it comes on TV.....good old easy to watch movie, before the cheese of the sequels was added, 4 was good too

Suprised like many of you that hot toys has'nt gone back and updated their figures with better headsculpts and bodies.
Even more suprised there arn't more custom figures with the descent head sculpts about.
Reckon with neca and eb covering rambo hot toys are trying to move on.
@hot toys "NOTHING IS OVER ....NOTHING":)

I wish I could erase my mind and watch the series in order to see how I'd view 2 and 3 differently, but I saw them all in reverse order, watched 3 and the cartoon for years, then got to see 2 and finally First Blood, but by the time I saw FB, my vision of Rambo was formed around the sequels, and First Blood fit in with the others to me.

Am I the only one that did the readings?

"Q24: Will there be DX versions of Rocky and Rambo?

H: Yes there will. Basically the head sculpts are finished and are in final touches. But Hot Toys has been really busy for the past 6 months. Whenever time allows we will put them in production."

I'd say when Enterbay show their 1/4 scale rocky, we'll see /ht's version.

I am mosty out of buying new products from HT so unless a specific item thread crops up I have no clue what they're up to.

The big question is, which Rambo will they do, First Blood would make a good DX like Bespin Luke with 2 while figures, one clean in M65 coat one bloody in poncho. Between outfits and weapons you can make a justified DX Rambo from any of the movies.

I was disappointed that they didn't include more Barney Fife in the Expendables. Coulda given Chuck Norris a run for his money.

SnakeDoc
I actually think Barney Fife would've been an improvement over the Barney Stallone played. Hell, so would have Barney Rubble or Barney the purple dinosaur. That movie sucked.

I'm surprised they haven't announced a new Rambo with Enterbay's being so well received by fans, though many are still waiting to receive him, but HT doesn't like EB getting fan favor.

Speaking of collectibles, for me, the EB Rambo 3 is the coolest one ever made, they did such a fantastic job. For nostalgia, I still really treasure my Coleco Rambo from the old cartoon.

:rock I had one of those as well. It was a great figure for the time. I even made him a poncho like he had in FB out of an old black t-shirt and tied it off with some kite string. :lol

I'm still surprised that they used Stallone and Crenna's likenesses when the cartoon Rambo and Trautman really didn't look like them.

For some reason I sold my original at a yard sale then later my dad was nice enough to drive to Rhode Island to get me a new one from a comic shop I found out about. This was before eBay, now you can buy them all day long, I can't believe how many are out there still on the card.

Man I really liked 3. However, knowing what we know now Rambo helped the Taliban. :slap

I cannot condone such actions and wish he would go back and take care of business. :rotfl

There was actually an interesting plot idea for RAMBO 4 post-9/11 that was about the Taliban attacking the UN headquarters in NY and holding all the ambassadors hostage. Rambo (naturally) is sent in to take care of business. And it turns out that the leader of the terrorists is the Afhgan kid from Part 3 (the one who Rambo gave Co's necklace to... and he still has it) all grown up. There's a personal moment between the two, and it almost seems like Rambo talks the guy out of it because of their bond... but he doesn't, and in the end Rambo has to kill him to prevent him from blowing up the whole complex. It ends with a somber Rambo realizing that no matter what good people do for other people, there will always be hatred and war.

Like I said, pretty interesting. Especially in the current geo-political climate.

As for this poll...

The best Rambo film: FIRST BLOOD. My personal favorite, though, is RAMBO: FIRST BLOOD PART II. It's just the quintessential 80s action flick.

I've only seen the most recent Rambo film would you believe. I suspect, having not grown up watching them, I probably wouldn't appreciate them like you guys do.

I do believe Caneron's involvement with the script helped in this way, two powerhouses of 80s/90s action together.

I like that idea, shame they did'nt follow through.
That kid was annoying "can I have it" reminds me of the gypsy kids that live round here:)

Man, kids these days don't realize how bad it was pre-eBay :D

I wanted some of those old GI Joes and would have paid a mint for them back in the early-mid 1990s. Now, you can find them for a few bucks on eBay easily.

Forget eBay, per-Internet. First collectible shop I ever went to, my parents heard about it through the grapevine.

Or like when I first got into Rambo, VHS, no DVD, and no blockbuster, just local shops with one copy of any movie an not every movie. That's why it took so long for me to see First Blood, had a hard time finding a copy. Crazy thing is I'm only 29 and I've witnessed so much change.

Well those things are pretty interchangeable to me. But I joined eBay in 1999, first had internet access in '97 (at which point I immediately started buying up bootleg pro wrestling tapes from Japan :D ). Before those days there was simply no process for getting anything that wasn't local unless you were part of some kind of collector's network. I. . .was not :(
