Everybody knows that consoles NEVER have good release titles for consoles. The last GOOD realease game for a console was like 10 freaking years with Super Mario 64.

Call of Duty 2 for the 360 was awesome and is still one ofthe top selling games for the 360.

As I said in the sentence before, I was talking exclusives. Sorry if I wasn't clear.

but its not an exclusive. its on the PC and call of duty 3 is coming out for the PS3 and Wii. just because the 360 was the only system that has it doesnt make it an exclusive.

Wait... I never said it was an exclusive. When you quoted me on the Super Mario 64, it seemed like you thought I wasn't talking about exclusives, but just any lauch title, exclusive or not. So.... what are we arguing about?

Halo comes to mind ;) But you are right. Usually games released at launch are rushed and not up to par as developers have little time to learn the nuances of a system, and are under extreme pressure to get the games released. It is usually not until 2nd or 3rd generation games that we can start to see what a system can really do.

The 360 will probably do very well in the US and even Europe (due to Sony nixing this holiday season for release in Europe due to shortages). I am not sure how much of a roar Sony can muster.

I am an avid gamer myself. I have owned most systems released since Atari 2600 (including such notables as the NeoGeo, SuperGrafx, and Laseractive). Personally I am not to psyched about the PS3. I think the price will really hold off most people. Two of those systems I listed above cost more than $600 at their release, and look how well they did (granted with the NeoGeo the games were $200+) They catered to a niche market (really hard core gamers). Sony is trying to push to a much broader market.

Time will tell.

All the same though, I do have a PS3 on pre-order.

I have not read every post in this thread but I have a few things to say that others have said.

First, a person really should look at the games before getting the console. Not just the release games. Really do they matter all that much I do not think so. I will get a PS3 solely because it will have the FF series on it. Do I plan on getting it right away no, there is no reason too.

Both systems are great in fact most systems that come out have something good going for them. The new Nintendo looks great as well. Others have touched on T.V issues. Good point a lot of TV’s can not even handle the full potential of the systems.

Bottom line I think is that games make the console. We all like different types of games so we will all probably get the system that makes those games we have always enjoyed.

If you don't care about the extras, it all comes down to games. If I only had to choose one console, it'd be the Wii. Zelda's my favorite franchise and Metroid is just amazing as well.

Don't expect to see too much of me from November 19-27 :D

Zelda looks awesome and I really like the new controllers.

Can't comment yet because I haven't played with them. My friend works for Gamestop and called me after he got done playing Zelda, Red Steel, and Excite Truck at their manager's meeting. He was as giddy as I've ever heard him. He said it was the greatest video game experience he ever had. As if the wait wasn't already killing me....... How long now?

Part of me doesn't want the Wii because it isn't hi def. But I know that there is another part of me that would love to play a new Zelda game...

It's nice to have some pretty games on the 360, but I can't wait just to play Wii Sports with the remote. I've never been excited for a tennis or bowling game :lol

I haven't played any games in almost a year now, but I'm a big fan of the Final Fantasy, Gran Turismo and MGS series... Almost to the point of me wanting to get a PS3 sometime in the future. I'm just not sure about Blu-ray, yet.

Well in your case, it seems like the PS3 is the only option. I don't forsee those games on a 360 or Wii anytime soon.

360 = Halo 3

PS3 = MGS4

Wii = Super Mario Galaxy

Do you really expect me to choose? :monkey4

I'm getting all three!

Yeah, baby, YEAH!

thats what i say!! (of course sideshow prevents me from buying them all right now)

1 system is enough for me. :) I was able to take my PS2 and a bunch of games traded them all in and got my 360 with 4 games and PO two others for $550. So For me it was a much better deal than the PS3

I'm going to get all three of course. Already have the 360, goign to wait in line all night on the 16th to get the PS3 and of course all night on the 18th to get the Wii. Doesn't seem I'll be getting much sleep that week. If you have any doubts about getting the Wii, just watch this:

videoplay

If I was going to get a 360, I would still wait until Spring because that is when they are releasing the die shrink, so the system will run cooler.

thats dedication!!! im just gonna get zelda then the wii. the guys at EB said there shouldnt be much of a shortage on the systems because nintendo stated they were waiting until they had so many ready for shipment, but the games are what should be a little hard to find. Zelda is the only game i want for the system right now and if i cant get it i might as well wait on buying the system.
