Looks excellent OMG!!!! :clap

After playing around with this thing for a few days, I've come to the conclusion that, as pretty as it is it's just chock full of really crap design decisions.

The back panel is the worst, its connected by really thin plastic tabs that on mine weren't strong enough so the back panel kept on popping off. Eventually I went "**** it" and just super glued the back panel on, which of course means forfeiting the light up feature because some genius decided to put the switch on the inside of the figure.

Posing is a real *****, because quite a few of the joints, mostly in the legs, are sheathed in a kind of flexible rubber that has a tendency to bounce back into neutral position. This is a problem in the legs where the hips and knees are ratchet joints, combined with the aforementioned rubber and I find it really hard to get more subtle stances out of this guy.

I can't remember the last time I've been this frustrated "playing" with a figure.

I agree with you about the back panel design. Too fragile and extra care is needed. Can foresee problems in the future if you remove it too much. I also thought the batteries were a pain in the arse to install too. For a $200 toy, I felt they should have been included.

I totally agree! From the pics, Carter looks totally accurate. I'm glad Three A are doing these Halo figures & not Hot Toys! I'm a fan of HT but I don't think they would have perfected the sculpt & accuracy like Three A did & the cost would have been a lot more. This figure is truly a work of art!!

Re: Three A Halo Figures

I'm not sure if its necessarily cheaper, I mean yeah it looks like it initially what with HT iron men averaging at about 250$ and this being only 200$ plus a good couple inches taller, but I feel its lacking a little in the accessories department; if you take away the armor pieces you only really have the battle rifle and two grenades. I'd say its cheaper but not by a massive margin when you consider most HT figs come with a slew of accessories. I said most btw, its not the case with every fig (looking at you catwoman).

As for accuracy, that be a debate for another day, I think HT would have done a good job, I think enterbay would have done a good job, heck maybe even medicom could have turned out something decent. I like what 3A brought to the table, I really like the figure; but they stumbled when it came to the "playability" of the figure. There were some good ideas, but the execution was lacking; the magnets would have been a nice touch had they been stronger, they really should have just had the light switch on the outside and the back panel kept it in place using screws and i'm not sure whats going on with the hip articulation.

I feel another company might have gone in a different direction and might have come out with a less problematic figure.

I need to stress this is one of the best looking figures I own and by far the best looking halo figure out right now, its just a real pity its plagued by design issues.

Well...a stand & more weapons could have definitely justified the price a little. Hopefully 3A makes a weapon pack later. You are right Snakey... I'm sure a different company might have given us a more playability type of figure but I doubt they would have got the weathered paintjob this good. We should toss ideas on here about what would have worked better for the poseability on this guy. Who knows...maybe 3A might use this to improve on the next Halo figure. At any rate.... Carter looks better than this... Lol.

Yup, the paint on carter is top notch, I love it and not just the gratuitous weathering; all the little details are there, its amazing the attention they put into it underneath all the seemingly random scratches and pitting.

In any case it seems to be a trend with high end figures to be pretty to look at but nerve wracking to touch. :D

Re: Three A Halo Figures

Carter is cool and all..... But C'mon 3A.... Bring on Emile and the Master Chief!!! :yess:

I'm a Carter fan - reallt dig his armor and colors - and stoked (and surprised) that we got him so soon. I think Emile would be absolutely killer though and would love to see him get the 3A treatment.

Ok...so who is gonna sculpt a custom Carter head (helmet off) to go with this guy? 3A should have included one, how awesome would that have been?! ....& a magnum pistol!

Magnum pistol would kick rear. And yes I wish someone woukd do an Carter headsculpt - that would rock.

Re: Three A Halo Figures

I couldn't resist, this figure looks amazing, so I PO'd Carter! I hope sideshow ships this soon!!

Re: Three A Halo Figures

Looked a bit into those HALO characters and yes EMILE would be really cool love the helmet it remind me of Mospeada's one. Really can't make up my mind about carter, not really a big fan of the blue but the exclusive is more expensive...
Decisions decisions.

Btw not a lot of seller for this, pretty annoying.
Is it because its not yet really available worldwide and just in HK?

Re: Three A Halo Figures

i got it last week from threeA and it looks amazing displayed. i really love the size on this thing

Re: Three A Halo Figures

I went ahead and ordered Carter thru SSC, as the Ironman $25 off promo worked, and it made it $210 shipped

Re: Three A Halo Figures

Really wish they would do Master Chief, preferably Halo 3 or 4. The Sideshow PF is a perfect representation of H:CE so we don't need anything at the 1/6th scale or greater once that drops.
