Re: Three A Halo Figures

Looks fantastic. Been waiting for a company to do halo justice! Does it have any forward articulation in the arms? Like shoulder area like true types.

Re: Three A Halo Figures

Just picked mine up; wonderful looking figure and absolutely massive with other 1/6 figures.

For those who have him as well, how do you loosen up the hips? It's same issue i'm having with HT black widow where the rubber suit is limiting movement a little, but I've seen pics where he takes a knee so I think I need to force it a little. Problem is; like a lot of high end releases i'm terrified of over stressing the joints lest it break into a million pieces or something.

Another issue is that a lot of the armor pieces are simply glued onto the rubber bodysuit and one piece under the arm has already managed to work it self free a little, I want to glue it back into place but i'm not sure what kind of glue should go with the rubber suit.

But all in all great figure!

I've used nail glue and it is holding great so far.

Re: Three A Halo Figures

The photos just keep getting better and better :D

Out of curiosity can these SPARTAN IIIs do a seated position? I ask as I need to know for my WARTHOG if they will fit.
Judging by the sizes in the photos and knowing leg space I think yes, just need to know they can actually attain a seated position too please :D

Re: Three A Halo Figures

After playing around with this thing for a few days, I've come to the conclusion that, as pretty as it is it's just chock full of really crap design decisions.

The back panel is the worst, its connected by really thin plastic tabs that on mine weren't strong enough so the back panel kept on popping off. Eventually I went "**** it" and just super glued the back panel on, which of course means forfeiting the light up feature because some genius decided to put the switch on the inside of the figure.

Posing is a real *****, because quite a few of the joints, mostly in the legs, are sheathed in a kind of flexible rubber that has a tendency to bounce back into neutral position. This is a problem in the legs where the hips and knees are ratchet joints, combined with the aforementioned rubber and I find it really hard to get more subtle stances out of this guy.

I can't remember the last time I've been this frustrated "playing" with a figure.

Hmmm. I'm currently in line at ups picking up my commando exclusive. Hope my joints are good. I totally agree the switch on the inside and the back panel does seem like not much thought was put into it. Pretty unfortunate since this is the first and only high end halo figure. Guess it'll be one of those "just stands there" figures. It's halo so I had to have it.

Wow...that sucks. Now I'm having second thoughts about getting Carter... :(

Re: Three A Halo Figures

Just to clear up; i'm not trying to poo-poo the figure or dissuade anyone from buying it, I was just blowing of steam. It really is a great looking figure and hands down the best looking halo figure out there. It has its issues, really frustrating issues, but so do a lot of high end figures.

Losing the light up feature isn't that big a loss for me in the long run; I only used my Iron Man MKIV's light up feature a few times for photography purposes before the batteries started to die and I couldn't be arsed to change them.

In none of the reviews I've read have people experienced the same problems I have with the figure, at least not to the same extant. So I don't know, maybe i'm unlucky or i'm just really bad at handling figures :dunno.

Re: Three A Halo Figures

I should have mine early next week and will be posting a review on OSW and Figures.com - from the looks of it, as has been mentioned numerous times before, the biggest issues are design-based and, as this is the first of this type for ThreeA, there's always a learning curve....so they may be forgivable...

That said, it's simply a cool looking design too and a "must have" for die-hard HALO fans. I just hope they do other characters.

Re: Three A Halo Figures

Pretty amazing looking figure. They definitely should have spent more time on the functionality of the body and pieces rather than wheathering. I don't know for the life of me why they didn't include a stand either. This is starts to wobble when I breathe on it! Also the left big shoulder pad will not stay on AT ALL. might have tojjust glue it on. Overall amazing halo piece. Maybe theyll learn some lessons from these and get master chief right.

Re: Three A Halo Figures

Want to get this but cant make up my mind about carter or the exclusive...
Im not the biggest fan of Halo but i dig some futuristic soldiers.

Re: Three A Halo Figures

The only place to get the Ex is now on ebay I think.
SS still has carter for PO and i'm sure other retailers will too.
I'm not much of a Halo fan but the look and design of these figures is what won me over.

I like both but I think Carter is definitely my favorite of the two. He looks amazing and really stands out when posed together.

I didn't have any issues with the back battery panel. It goes on and off pretty easy on mine but I thought I was going to break it the first time. Haven't messed with the arm slots yet because I haven't picked up batteries. The switch should be on the outside though. Crazy design decision. Which is a shame because the lights look amazing.

I'm guessing the only reason the switch is on the inside is so that it's hidden from sight. It makes the figure look more accurate. How many people will actually display it with the lights on....not many. Still it would have been nice to access the switch from the outside of the backpack.

Yeah, accurate or not I would have been fine with it hidden on the back somewhere. Either way, I think this figure is all kinds of awesome and is just spectacular looking.
