The new delay is official: Late October!

Congrats to 3A for making me worry about my New Years prediction actually seeming realistic

Ha, merry christmas!!!

Those pictures are filled with awesomesauce. Thanks.
Bones looks great!
I'd also like Kidslogic Grimlock and Prime. They have that similar vibe as your Darth Vader.

kotobukiya's model kit looks like a bootleg if you put it on the mix.lolz
still waiting on herocross bumblebee to go with 3A's.lolz

Optimus Prime looks fantastic, but I don't know if it will look good with my 1/6 scale figures.. These Transformers are not sixth scale right?

If Optimus was 1/6 he would be around 70" tall.

Bumblebee is 15" and Optimus is 19" tall.

I received notice yesterday from Sideshow that this figure should arrive in their Warehouse in about 12 days.

I got mine in today and

OH MY GOD!!!

I am absolutally blown away by how great this figure is. This by far, is the best representation of Bumblebee with articulation from the Dark of the Moon movie PERIOD! It's not without it's faults, but it is simply stunning. My biggest gripes are that it requires 3 little button batteries that it does not come with. They're easy to find BUT if you buy them from a place like CVS or Walgreens, you're gonna be paying like 5-6 bucks for like one battery. You can find them much cheaper on places like amazon though. The other thing i don't really like or understand really, is the thumb. It articulates forward and back, but it doesn't rotate at the base. Now the other fingers also don't rotate at the base but the thumb seems like it should. Giving it a much more naturally look. As it is, it sticks straight out from the hand and unless you're doing a clutching pose or fist, it looks weird. I don't know why they couldn't have put some sort of ball socket there for the thumb, especially considering the price and the fact that there are parts on this thing that are articulated that i'm still randomly discovering. So much on this guy is hinged that i don't see why they couldn't have done something with the thumb. But those are really my only two gripes. Beyond that...i'm in LOVE!! If their Megatron and Optimus turn out like this guy, i am just going to want them to keep making more and more! Sadly, from my understanding from the rep that i'm dealing with, they only have the license for Dark of the Moon. So that limits some of the characters i would love to see done. But the main guys are going to be fun to collect! :)

That's some high praise Optibotimus! I'm looking forward to mine arriving. Will you be doing a video review?

And can you tell us the actual battery type that you had to buy separately. I'd like to go ahead and order so I will be ready when the figure arrives. Thanks

They're listed as AG1 batteries. You'll need a total of 9 of them (3 for the head, 3 for the chest and 3 for the cannon)

And yup, i'll be doing a video on it!

Production versions have reached various outlets so shipping should be soon for the US.

tfw2005 got one in for a review.

We have a copy of the retail release for DOTM Bumblebee here at TFW2005 HQ and have run it through a detailed photo session so everyone can check it out before it hits your doors. He should be shipping soon! Read on for over 90 HD images after the break!

3A Transformers Dark of the Moon Bumblebee

Pros:
BIG!
Extremely detailed
Articulation is top notch
Holds a pose and is weighted well
Most screen accurate Bee to date
Lights!

Cons:
Doesn’t transform (ok not fair)

Overall
Overall, this is a fantastic piece. I am a big movie Bumblebee fan and when I saw the preview pics of this piece last year I knew I was immediately in. The detail and multi layered weathering on the figure is amazing, at times when I was shooting, checking my shots on the computer between snaps, I’d look over at it under the lights and just go wow. It looks like someone ripped Michael Bay’s movie out into real life and shrunk it down. It’s not little though, he comes up to Generations Metroplex’s chest. I have been super impressed with Prime 1 Studio’s statues though those are a bit out of my price range, and gigantic. 3A’s Bumblebee gives almost all that detail & screen accuracy, plus it can be posed, and fit on most of our shelves, for a fraction of the cost. I know it’s probably not realistic any time soon, or probably ever, but this is basically what I want if Hasbro/Takara were to ever go beyond Masterpiece. This, that transforms. Maybe a little smaller. I want it to look just like that when in robot mode, and then exactly like a Camaro when in vehicle mode. Figure it out, I’m no engineer. :).

Bottom line – this figure is stunning, and I’m super glad 3A went ahead and did this. Their upcoming figures (linked above) also look on par, Prime is due out next in 2016. They haven’t announced plans to continue beyond that, but I’d like to officially request a Barricade. They only have Dark of the Moon, but he was in there briefly so one can only hope!

Man this is just awesome. Excited to know that his arrival is just around the corner!

I own the smaller Bee to the right in this picture. Can't wait to have a bigger and more detailed version!

I would imagine theirs, like mine, is a review sample that they got ahead of the actual release. But from what i was told a couple weeks ago, they have shipped to retailers and usually boats are pretty slow, so i would imagine them coming in stock soonish at least.

Also, i don't know what TFW is talking about. Prime isn't the end of their line. So far it's Bumblebee, Megatron (due out i believe around Christmas time), Optimus Prime, which i think is scheduled for early 2016 and they've shown off at toy shows Starscream. I think if the demand is there, they will continue but they are limited to only the Dark of the Moon license, as TFW did say though.
