I am looking at the weathering (battle damage, actually)...and not liking it. I am not a fan of the battle damage anyway. And I can't help but wonder just exactly what these marks are supposed to simulate. Honestly, other than the clones bumping up against a freshly-painted black surface, I can't really think of anything that would cause this particular type of marking.

I still dig the clone and will be keeping my order, but I really am tired of the battle damage.

i assume that the armor itself is black or a dark steel color and painted white and what ever other colors the squads use. the black marks are just where the paint wears off from normal wear and tear and battle.

I'm sorry most of us don't want clean clones. I don't want a clone that just stepped off the assembly line with his brand new armor. The weathering job SS does is pretty damn great. Gotta say I hope they keep it up the way they're doing things. These guys should look like they've been to hell and back.

Well, lookey here! Looks like the clones ain't been purdy since they were out of the factory on Kamino.

Well said, The Josh! :goodpost::exactly:

No reason to apologize. As far as I know, it is not your fault.:)

That's as weak a sarcastic comeback as I've seen. :lol

I am in favor of less weathering. I thought most of the troopers are too worn out. :(

The thing is any less and you might as well go clean at least for me. I don't care to try and customize these myself.

As far as clones in "companies" go, I do like the fact that they're all battle damaged. But I do want a pristine basic, all white Phase II clone just so I could have a nice evolutions display with both phases of the clone armors and stormtrooper:rock

Right thats why the one they did for Ep II is a great choice to get. Its basically all white and ready to go into battle.

You would think that it would be really hard to get dirty in a place where there isn't any dirt... :lol

Have you been around or in a big city lately (which is basically what Coruscant is)...they're FILTHY. If anything, this guy might be TOO clean, depending on the area of Coruscant (the big city) he's assigned to.

Agreed...I'm really impressed with the detailing on these so far, especially for a mass-produced (yeah, less than Hasbro but more than a few)...they're looking really great.

Thanks for these shots, Josh....make the wait a little easier....
Bring on the clones!

He looks great and I'm tempted to use RP for him but I also want to use them on a second 501st.... decisions decisions... :dunno

Yeah, they really have shown they're quite good at the weathering. I love what they're doing.

No problem. I was quite pleased with it. It made me look forward to it even more.

hopefully not beating a dead horse, but as cool as it looks, it would look even better with the new under suit.

I'm not sure on either of those. I wouldn't be shocked if it does have those changes when it ships. May just be a proto they grabbed for the show.

I, for one, highly doubt that SS would make this change. That piece looked VERY production quality up close. Not saying it wont happen, but I dont think SS has ever set a precedent for making this type of in-production change.
I DO hope the hold up on the Emperor is to make sure his feet can touch the ground though??? :huh
