they decided not too becuase they said it would simply be too costly to make. meanin, it would likely cost MORE than the batmobile.

As long as they keep trying with the alien queen however, i'm happy.

Rather have a queen. But as I remember the queen was much larger than Ripley's power loader in the movie. So we're talking huge.

I would rather have Iron Monger than the Queen. And isn't the Queen bigger anyway? I wonder who would win in a fight?

they would die together
hehe, Iron Monger would use a super concentrated repulsor beam at the Queen, effectively piercing through her head. Then the Queen's acidic blood will be all over Iron Monger melting his armor and the person within.

quoted for truth.

the thing with the queen is, like the aliens, she'll likely have the rubber body covering a skeletal armature, making her cheaper to produce.

I'm glad they decided not to make iron monger as I just don't have the space for it. Well, actually, they could've put parts of ironmonger each time they releases ironman products. That way, in order to build an ironmonger, they need to buy all of the ironman product. Sort of what toybiz or some action fig company has been doin for a while now.

Not to necropost, but according to this March 30, 2010 interview with HT President Howard Chan, IRON MONGER in 1/6 is still in development...even WITH the IM2 figures on the way! :rock :rock :rock

Q: On specific characters from movie licenses, will Hot Toys produce Commissioner Gordon (Batman), Iron Monger (Iron Man), Jill Valentine (Resident Evil)?

Howard: ...As for Iron Monger, it was always a case of cost issues and pricing, as you know it is a very large figure in 1/6 scale so to really do it justice and yet making it a price that will still be supported by the dealers and customers remain the greatest challenge.

Personally I want to see this made! But now given that Iron Man 2 the movie will be released soon and we are already committed to making a few characters from the new movie. We are also preparing a series of exciting promotional activities such as Iron Man exhibition in Hong Kong and Taiwan in Apr-May this year and a stream of exclusive privilege to our event participants. Therefore, from a timing standpoint we don’t know where to fit Iron Monger. But it remains in our development plans.

Its bull____. I'm telling you, the further and further away from Iron Man 1 you get the less likely its to happen, not to mention from Howard's own mouth its not cost effective at the moment and they'll drain so much R&D that it'll make it too difficult to turn a profit. I'm sure they'd like to do it but it won't happen.

...he does say "Personally I want to see this made..." So for what it's worth I guess, he has his own passion to see this figure come to fruition.

Let's all keep our fingers crossed!

Sure, HT likes to test themselves. Much like other things though HT could very well make one for themselves and never put it out into production. Their artists do that all the time. Its not going to happen.

When toy companies say "its in development" it equates to a husband telling his wife "I'll do it this weekend. I promise".

Lets not forget the Medieval Kurgan was once "in development" too :lol

HAHA! :lol

HT also has said for ages that a 1/6 Alien Queen is "In Development"...so... :angelsmil

Yeah but this is Hot Toys not Sideshow. They made the Power Loader, ED-209, the Tumbler and Batpod all in 1:6 so if Howard Chan says they are working on a 1:6 Iron Monger I believe him.

All it really says is we'd like to but we're not sure we can. Far from encouraging IMO.
