I'm a little bummed out that these aren't complete figures . Why they would go this route , I have no idea ??

I wish they had made different helmets, we've had 4 versions of the corintian helmet already, we have to this day, no macedonian, no successor armies figures. Corinthian helmets weren't used in ancient warfare all that much. The invasion of greece by xerces, and the pelopponesian war, to name a few conflicts, had none of those helmets. Oh well.
Its nice to get the gear, but I wish they went for something with more variation.

Do you know of any links that show what kind of helmets they actually used in battle ? Would love to know .

Before the 500s bc, corinthian helmets were no longer in widespread use. ea5808ab21a857f78d675cb4c0292b8d.jpg

The attic , thracian, phrygian , chalcidian and celtic helmets became the dominant variants in the greek world.

In the italian peninsula, the etrurian , celtic and hispanic influences weighted more heavily on the development of roman headgear. The pseudo corinthian helmet remained in the roman army for a while, but wasn't in the majority, and mostly for the triarii, up to the camilian and polybian period.

There are dozens of types of headgear more accurate for the period, the corinthian wasn't used after the 6th century by most accounts, and I feel that ACI already gave us 4 of those, ignite also made corinthian helmets, we need more historical accurate variants.

Probably because the Corinthian helmet it the most iconic Greek helmet and in my opinion one of the coolest looking ancient civilization helmets around. Cheers.

So what bodies/heads would work/fit with these armour sets? Also do ACI bodies work with Hot Toys sculpts? Would love to see some Trojan war era armour sets too:

These look fantastic Calvin!
The helmets look more realistically sized and the outfits are appropriately brightly colored.
I'm not sure which one I want more!

Totally agree! I think ACI has outdone themselves this time with the Greek Hoplites, made them look totally ass kicking even without the chest armor, with colorful and based on more historically correct design and decals on the scaled leather armor, Kudos!

My set arrived today; i put it on a body i had lying around just to see how it looks, obviously the body is a bit too scrawny but it'll do untill i get my hands on an proper one.

The only thing i don't like is that the linothorax uses a velcro closure, it's somewhat unsightly looking from the back.

Sadly the helmet was warped out of the package.

Sword and sheath are well done

The shield has this string attatched to the back, i think it's meant to be a grip, very cool.

Great pics and thanks for the review!
It sucks to hear about the velcro closure, I'm sure it can be improved.
I preorderd set A, mostly because it reminds me of the "Philip of Macedon" armor.
I'd also like to at least get set B, but that's sold out at Timewalker.
The string on the back of the shield is for a hand grip, it could also allow it to be fastened in other ways to the back or a wall for storage.
Anyone have an idea on a good body for this, one that looks as good as the promo pics from ACI?
