If I tell you, I'll have to kill you!
Ada Chan has just opened a forum on her website. It's a general custom forum, but she takes commissions on it too.
A new thread's been opened yesterday for a Chris Reeve commission, but the forum being new, I doubt the members will be enough to fill the prescribed number for a commission (30 people paying $15 each for thirty HS)
So anyone interested here? We're already 2 interested!
Here's the link:

I would be interested, but it would honestly depend on the final product. Her sculpts are kinda hit and miss.

Ditto. She's a great sculptor, no doubt. But some of ones shown on her site are a bit off.

Sylar is a perfect example of that. It is way off. I think the trick to getting good sculpts with Ada is to be carefull what pictures you send a s reference to her.

It might be better to try and get C.Howes_Sculptor to do the sculpt hes always on the boards to give feedback to and hes really good.but thats just me.

Isn't DC making a Christopher Reeve 13" (which is actually very close to scale considering he was 6' 4") Figure?

Doesn't Andy Bergholtz do Sculpts for DC now? Just saying, if DC makes one and AB sculpts it, might be worth the wait for that.

All that's been said is true!
Adan sometimes misses the spot! However, on her forum, there is a thread for that where she asks the input on members on what's right or wrong about particular HS. She seems to be "correcting" Sylar at the moment after the negative input. as for the pics, Reeve is well documented and I've literally collected hundred of pics to do my own HS. It's done, I'm rather satisfied with it (I'll post pics toward the end of September when I've had time to assemble the suit), yet, I wouldn't frown at an even better sculpt, so I'm ready to take the chance and forward the pics to Ada.
As for a DCD Reeve?????
I've seen that rumour pop on somewhere, but to the best of my knoledge, it was just wishful thinking! DCD is making a Reeve statue, and someone said, somewhere, "if they're doing that, a 1/6 fig can't be far off!", and it was picked up. However, I've just looked through their site and haven't seen anything to add credit to this, so...

I'd be one to support this drive. I actually emailed Chris Howes to ask about possibly doing a Chris Reeve HS. He's open to the idea. I think we just need enough people to get on board.

I know Chris H. is currently busy finishing up his TDK stuff and is about to start working on a few other characters (namely Alfred, Gordon, Fox and Dent), among other more important projects. With those (and possibly more) on his plate, I'm not sure if he'd be able to accommodate a Chris Reeve HS project soon.

So should we start a separate thread to see?

...

16k - my apologies, didn't mean to hijack this thread. I know this is supposedly for Ada's work, not Chris H's. I was just responding when his name was mentioned.

I don't know about ADA, but I am thinking of remolding this old guy, my original Superman head, and would gladly offer it to anyone who wants one, painted and un, if there is sufficient interest again.
And note that there would be no up front sculpting fees or development fees, just the heads.

Unpainted original:

And a recently painted example of the sculpt:
(this one mounted to a HT neck adaptor, something I am not planning on offering this go round as it is too time consuming for my workload, but you can see it with paint this way...)

It will fit a HT B-type neck adaptor, or a Dragon or other body adaptor easily.
If there is interest, I will remold this one, and offer a limited casting of it.

Also, I hope to offer the CLARK KENT version soon, with glasses included, in a very limited run, as the glasses are not easy for me to get in quantity. These will be offered in painted and non-painted also.

Just for your information. Email me at [email protected] if there is any interest. Thanks.
Les

Les' version is, well, super! Ada does good work and, yes can be hit and miss, but has corrected things fairly well. And when she nails a likeness, Jared Padelecki comes to mind, she nails it. Sorry, I've yet to be impressed by Chris' work.

I would personally take Les's Reeve any day. Why commission another from Ada? If it ain't broke, don't fix it :lol

I can't imagine a better one then les'. That being said what kind of suits are out there and does anybody have any pics?

Count me in for 2 Reeve's sculpt from Ada or Chris. Although I'm more in favour of Les's sculpt as the head is already made and the likeness is damn near perfect, which would be even better (if possible) with some further refinement.

Oh man, go with Les' Reeve! It's gorgeous and no commissioning fees!

About Adas new forum and her asking for input for corrections (which is awesome): those are for the heads she's decided to make herself (with no one commissioning her to do it).

I think it's a great idea as we can all agree when you see a sculpt that is wrong, you wish you could have seen it when she was still sculpting it to get her to fix a few things (her Milla comes to mind for me).

It's difficult to know which ones of Adas sculpts she decided to do on her own and ones she was commissioned to do, other than the commissioned ones tend to be better through a lot of ref pics by the commissioner and their guidance (hey, they sprang several hundred on it. I HOPE they guide her!), but I've noticed recently all of the ones Ada has decided to do herself recently have this one single type of reference pic by them, like she's been doing them from just that one photos angle and not choosing other angle shots to look at (Heroes, X-Files, and I THINK Smallville, Lost, and Milla). Kind of a weird choice to do it that way from just one pic, but a group forum for input on them is a step in the right direction. :chew:chew

Would also be interested if it's something I can afford :)

PM sent to Les.

Email sent Les, and hope that enough people get in on this to make it worthwhile to go through the process of recasting the sculpt. Also a big THANK YOU for going out of your way to do this for others :)
