IronMan, here's the link to Ada's website! Access forum in the top right corner! It's a HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE forum, with at least... 19 members.... Lol,

Seriously, everyone has to begin one day, and though I'm definitely going to buy Les' reeve if he recasts it, I'm also try to get one by Ada. Thus, between, Les', Ada's and mine, I'll choose the best one for my custom!

I like the casting commision idea. However, its tough as hell to get 30 folks together for a sculpt that you know isn't being done by everybody already. :(

TRUE, thoough I don't think competing sculpts of the same head ever really matter because, not to be rude, not all of them are of the same quality. Let the best sculpt win.

However, the very idea of getting 30 people together for a sculpt, and have them "locked in" like she wants before hand won't happen. Not with her recent hits and misses, and not with peoples interests changing like a cable tv station.

I have a lot of people who sign up for a commission and then I never hear from them again, even when it's one of her amazing results. A good number might pay before hand because they see what results Ada and I get together, but I would never expect to get EVERYONE to do that (though it would be nice).

Let me throw out some contributor numbers from the past commissions I've done.

Now, my Ada runs are different. I start commissions out at $35 a head ($20 towards the commission, $15 for the head copy), with the hopes of getting at least 10 people involved. Just ten. The more people who sign up, the lower the price goes.

The best response to a commission I've ever done has been Bill Murray from Ghostbusters. I had a phenominal 38 people signed up and wanting in, so I lowered the cost to $25 a head.

Now, here's the reality: In the end, only 22 people actually paid. Most of the others didn't respond. I think the Bill head turned out fantastic, so it shouldn't have been a bad product. Most likely they just kinda screwed the other comissioners and bought them from one of Ada's buy 3, get 4 free sales.

I can see doing that if if moneys tight, but alot should be said about contributing to smaller, isoteric runs of things as well to make sure they, or later ones, actually get made. I know the Doctor Who ones do well for Ada. It's just no one wanted to contribute to make them.

And the 22 Bill Murray got is a REALLY high number of people to get on a commission.

To break the other commissions down I've done, the two Supernatural bros had 14 people each. Tall Man from Phantasm had 9. The various Doctor Who characters have had 3-5, and Bishop from Aliens had 9.

Now, the $15 Ada wants is a heckuva lot cheaper than $35, but I think it's going to be near impossible to get her wanted 30 people involved unless you were commissioning an army builder character where commissioners would want to buy multiples, like say of an Gorilla soldier from POTA, a Voc robot from Doctor Who, or whatever.

I'm sure a $35 price tag for mine scared people away, so maybe her commissions will turn out different. Who knows?

Got in late from an all day out with my Mom yesterday. I will answer all emails today. Thanks guys.
I am still on the fence about the remold due to a very limited number of responses, but I will answer all asap and see if more come in. Also, it will be mid September before mine would be cast and unpainted one shipped, and late Sept to October before the painted ones could be mailed out.
If that helps anyone.
But I need at least 15 to 20 requests (probably all I will do) to warrant remolding, as it is a lot of work for just five or six that have emailed so far. Thanks for those though, and I will still consider them. Just let me know if anyone else wants the current head. I will try to have the Reeve Clark Kent head variant up soon.

Les

WST, well, money being tight and Ada's own bashing of me kinda kept me from going forward with Murray. I do plan on getting involved in your commissions but i probably won't be able to make a significant contribution in that way until 2009. :(

Oh, hey, that's cool. I wasn't refferring to you. You actually told me a bit about that in a post or PM, so you totally gave me a heads up.
I was just continuing on with the "30 people" would be a ^^^^^-and-a-half theme. :)

No prob, I just wanted to keep everything square. I hate passing up or missing out on something I know I'm going to want later anyway. :banghead
Keep me abreast of any updates (and Ada updates) as I don't have time to keep up with all the threads I'd like to and Ada bounced me from her listings because someone from the board told her I bashed her and wished her bad luck in selling the heads. Like that would make sense for me to do! :duh

I'd love a Reeve Superman and Kent that could fit on HT bodies to match their Superman Returns offerings but the real big question for me is that Superman himself with an accurate suit would be difficult to do. Clark would be easy but Supes is the real question mark.

The Mike: An accurate suit is not very difficult to do. For the blue suit, try this:

If you can find red pleather, I can explain how to make boots (have done mine already for my custom). The "S" shield is easy to find but if you need it, I can upload the one I used (the one from the movie, slightly different from the comics). The rest isn't difficult to do...
Oh and Les, thanks for answering.
Now, if number matters, I'll take two painted (CK and Supes) and two unpainted, thus it will maybe make it worth for you to recast!

Cool. Still can't commit until I see the sculpt but I'll be following this thread very carefully.

Les,

I got your email reply - thanks. Count me in for your official recast.

It might be a good idea if you started a separate thread so we can see how many folks are on board.

Hey Les,
I posted a PM for both a painted Superman and Clark Kent head if that helps you with your count. PLEASE recast this head - it is the best likeness of Chris Reeve available...unless you like having a Superman who doesn't really look like Superman.

So, what's the official count for a Les' CR recast so far? I count between8 or 11, depending if you count people or number of recasts...
Shouldn't we just make a thread with people stating whether they're in or not and the number of heads they want?
