Wow, it looks even more like Robert Knepper with the darkened eyes! This could be an interesting head for a kitbash if Hot Toys isn't going to continue the PB line.

The more I look at the shots...the more I'm liking the sculpt. As fo the shoulder issue, a little water treatment and futzing goes a long way. I thought Praji ended up looking petty good...Sideshow always does a great job with the tailoring and Piett should be no exception...

...and Piett will be a great representative of the gray Imperial uniform. Now for Tarkin to round it off...

Regarding Peter Cushing's height; one tends to think of him as "not so tall" since he was usually seen with 6'6" Christopher Lee or Vader, both of whom make people normally considered tall to appear less so(Gawd, that was awkward!). Anyway, I think I want to actually see this guy...PS

I canceled my order at SS due to higher shipping costs and VAT taxes they apply for EU customers, and placed my order at BBTS where they have the Pile of Loot.

So I'm getting Piett anyway :)

Just tried Big Bad Toy Store for their prices, as well as Play and Forbidden

and the more I look at the price for what Im getting and realise the amount of space I have for displaying this figure, I just think meh !

Buying an SSC Star Wars figure for the "collection" because Ive bought nearly all of SSC's past Star Wars Releases has to stop otherwise the collection suffers (as well as my wallet)!

Passed on

Snow Bunny (EU and crap EU to boot)
Palpatine 2 pack (as I have custom Emp that Im happy with)
EP2 Kenobi (Clone wars Obi without the armour)
Darth Vader (Ive a Hurricane Vader coming by March)

Everything else Ive bought (even the better RAH offerings too)

Id have to rotate figures out if I wanted to display this, and there isnt one figure (even my hasbro polished turds) that id want to rotate out to make room for him.

Id sooner go HT, every single one of their 1/6th releases Id have on my shelf, apart from the ****

I realise that SSC are 3/4 to 1/2 the price of a HT figure ! and that they have the Star Wars licence.

But Ive gotta face facts

It aint worth the money or the space for me.

My Star Wars indulgences will have to end with Antilles, Rebel Trooper and Praji.

Unless future Star Wars offerings are of a higher standard Im not buying anymore. Even the Main characters and their infinite re-incarnations. Hoth Solo, Luke and Leia will not be bought unless they are worth it SSC, do you hear me SSC dag nammit !

So far Ive recently passed on

Utupau Clone (price helmet issue and exclusive)

Storm Trooper Commander (Im not into stormtrooper decorators not at that price)

and now Piett (sculpt tailoring and price)

I have alot of Star Wars 12 inch figures I love the OT offerings in the past from SSC.

Im just being alot more choosy from now on ! This "it will do" attitude from SSC will have to stop ! I want to buy SSC's 1/6th star wars offerings, they just need to give me more reason too do so. Dont give me a HT proto pic either and then hand me a current SSC production as the final figure thats not right.

Price is an issue from now on ! In as much as Ill pay for a HT thats nigh on perfect, just not for an SSC with obvious issues well not at these recent prices, I would if its was $40 and $20 shipping, he may have gone in rotation as thats all he is worth to me, but he isnt atm

RANT over with . . . and breath

I imagine that if I had bought a lot of the past offerings, like you Mooncat, than Piett would be an easy pass. I'm just now getting into the Star Wars line and so I'm trying to get all the new releases I can. I really want Piett to go with Vader.

I've been selective all along, I've only bought 12 of their figures & I've been with the line since ROTJ Luke, This year is going to kill me LOL! as I have 5 on order

which 5 do u have on order mate?
I have Vader Ex,Stormtrooper Ex,Utapau Clone Ex X2,TFU Stormtrooper Commander,Admiral Piett and now Sandtrooper Ex X 2.......that's off the SSC website...
and off CaseFresh.com i ordered Ki Adi and the Rebel Fleet Trooper and Captain Antilles ;)
GOD this year will kill me!!!!!Or my wife will.lol

I've got X2 Stormtroopers, X1 Vader, X1 Clone, (Waitlist) X1 Sandtrooper & will more then likely get Piett, if any more troopers or imperials come out the missus is going to kill me, oh yeah I've got Indy coming this week as well.

Quicktime 360 video is up, I think he looks great. I think the sculpt looks promising, and my only likeness comment is the expression is a bit cold and emotionless, he was never really like that on screen so it makes him look different because we haven't seen him that way.

The 360 looked great. I canceled from SS, but if I do eventually get this it would have been through another retailer anyway since its not an exclusive and I can get it for about $10 cheaper anywhere else.

Not a SW nut, but some mentioned the collar should be even on both sides. The 360 still shows the uneven collar. Is that still wrong?

It just wasn't adjusted on the figure. many photos of Praji are around with this "collar" issue too (including some from Sideshow) but properly futzed, it'll look just fine. I just wish the figure in the 360 featured the cloth hat instead of that plastic bucket...but at least we get both of them. Looks promising...

The 360 does make the figure look much better. I wonder did the Pro body play a part here.

See I feel the exact opposite, he is kind of emotionless and worrysome and I think the sculpt captures that. Some bags under the eyes would help but overall I am digging Piett.

I agree he should look worried, but I don't see it in this sculpt. The sculpt expression looks, based on images and the 360, like he's entranced, just stone cold to the world, you could snap your fingers in his face and he wouldn't flinch like the guards in England. He shouldn't be super expressive, but he should look alive.

I agree with folks that there may be some sculpting dication that the imperials need to look very cold. Don't really agree with the idea, but looking at Praji and Piett, they're probably the least alive portraits in the line, and I don't think that trait being true of two Imperials and not in other sculpts is pure coincidence. I think Piett's well sculpted, so I don't think it's a matter of sculpting ability but rather a conscious choice to make him expressionless.
