Likeness looks like with the right lighting, it'll show based on this image, it comes through stronger than the preview.

Do you think Sideshow could have chosen a thinner fabric for the costume at this scale? I haven't looked, so I have no idea. But in this pic, the appearance and texture of his suit makes me feel like he's wearing a pea coat.

My complaint is that they STILL have not made the collar even. It was something pointed out with Praji and we see again on Piett. I understand it's because of how the tunic is designed but I would still rather see it even.

Yeah, I don't know who they hire to photograph their figures, but they surely don't pay attention to even the simplest things to make a figure more attractive for advertising. Pulling the collars even is one thing, and a simple tug on the pants so they don't poof out in an odd direction is another. These adjustments would take two seconds before taking a snapshot. Other things like the out of scale hat add up to a figure that just looks like it was rushed out of the door and makes me feel like Sideshow doesn't care, so why should I? At least now I can save my money.

Well it was a long time ago in a gal.... ahem, sorry. Well it was in either 75 or 76 I cant quite remember. I was friends with a kid who's parents ran the posher of two pubs in the village I lived in, it's about 25 miles from Pinewood Studios.
I was visiting with him and there was a bit of a buz as Cushing had been spotted with a group of people having lunch in the pub garden. Apparently someone had asked for his autograph and he'd been polite and signed it, when asked what had brought him there he said he was filming a new science fiction film at Pinewood (little did I know then). I remember it vividly as I knew him from the Doctor Who movies, wish I'd asked for his autograph as well now. But as I say, through the mist of time I remember him being about 6 foot'ish, I'll have to see if I can Google it!

Great story, Wookster.

Her name is Ginny and she's pretty damn nice. Overall she does a good job with taking shots. Just like anyone else she has figures that didn't come out right in their photos. The cloth cap looks odd and probably something SS should pass on the next time around. The rest of the outfit looks fine and I gotta say you're off the mark with this figure looking rushed (again outside of the cap).

Photography-wise, the figures look fine. But as we know, simple posing and 'futzing' can make a world's difference.

On another note, I am surprised they chose to put him on a Prometheus and not a Buck like Obi-wan. This is actually one figure that would do well on Buck since he won't be doing action poses and sculpted neck could have represented his distinguishing adam's apple quite well.

Well, people have called out for the discontinuation of the Buck period and voiced so when it was announced the Buck would still be used when Pro debuted, but I imagine it'll make things easier on SSC to have one body so the plan is probably the use of the Buck on remaining figures built for it where it doesn't seem to worthwhile to retool the heads for the Pro. Obi-Wan seems an anomally to that theory, but if Belloq, Toht and Piett are Pro figures, I think it's safe to say they're probably shifting to that. And a fairly simple figure can be on the Pro and only $70 so it doesn't seem like body's much a factor in price and no motivation to use the Buck to keep prices down.

Well perhaps they can do what Hot Toys does and give us a neck when it helps distinguish the character, like it would have here.

The sculpt looks a little too harsh to be an accurate likeness. However after this gets cast in the production process, I think that harsh quality will soften a bit.
My main issue I have with him is that the head seems too large for his body. Hopefully it'll shrink a bit in production.
I ordered one, not sure if I'll keep it though.

Yes, the head is oversized, but I have come to think of it as a Sideshow trademark. ;)

It does but he looks alright. I guess.

Funny how people want the buck gone but now want certain figures to put on it now that the Pro is out. Can't win for losing. :lol

It's not about the body so much as Sideshow hasn't tried placing a regular head on the Pro for neck detail like Hot Toys uses.

I guess its one of those features that I don't pay a lot of attention too. :lol

:lol

It's funny though, they do all fit together because of that.

Although MAUL, which has the best proportioned head to body really stands out as looking tiny.
I've gotten use to it, but I still wish they tried harder to get the scale right.
Maul is perfectly in scale, but I'd also add to that list Smuggler Han and ANH Luke, their heads are also just about perfect scale. Not sure about the others since they're all in storage.
