Can someone explain the deal with when Imperials wear hats?

Piett was a captain, then an admiral and wears his hat. But Tarkin and all his generals never wore hats. BUT General Veers wore a hat. Tarkin's subordinate wore a hat -- I thought it was an officer's hat, until everyone in "Empire" seemed to wear a hat. Did the Emperor instigate a new dress code between ANH and ESB?

Is there a rule for hats?

Hmm, I tried to think of a reason, but the best I could manage was that they couldn't find a hat big enough for Tarkin's giant head.

Or maybe you only have to wear your little hats on the Star Destroyers, and not on the Death Star.

On Indy, I'd agree, on Piett, I find the shoulders look right for him.

The collar actually doesn't need fixing, just futzing. Depending on how you fix the closure down on the right shoulder, it can pull the right side of the collar lower, I couldn't get the collar to stay in the right place until I refastened the velcro closure and repositioned it a slight bit.

I sort of settled on that myself, that hats are for 'Away Teams' or something. More likely it's just one of the many things that wasn't thought out until after the first film.

Is his head to neck color that different in person? Wow...guess it's a good thing he has that collar pulled up just so...

Yes, the base body is a very pale flesh tone, the hands and head are a healthy skin color. The hands match the head perfectly though. My guess is because of the collar covering the neck when properly futzed, and the forearms not showing, they just didn't worry about matching the body to the hands and head because you really wouldn't see much if at all.

ok, having received mine, I'm overjoyed. He's got a Gret, TIGHT JOINTED BODY. So, cobra commander ( my last pro-based figure) was not a fluke, Piet has got even better joints, much like Vader truth be told.

Also, I really like the head, and the TINY Doll dot, Make me love it even more. the Doll dot is ALLMOST GONE!
