I was a little disappointed that the Avengers score didn't make any referance to the Thor music. There would have been some good opportunities. Having said that I don't remember the music from Captain America TFA or any orchestral scoring from the Iron Man films so I guess unless you're going to referance them all it would be odd to referance just one of them. The Thor music was actually alright though.

Same. I enjoyed hearing Captain America's theme mixed into the score, though (even if it did seem a bit more present compared to the themes of the other characters). I listened to the OST again today, mainly the "Assault" track, and only really recognized Cap's music.

Why would it? That's basically stealing someone else's work.

I mean, sure they could possibly legally do it...but still.

And at the same time, it would be incredibly cluttered with 6 different themes going at once.

Cap got a free pass because Silvestri already did his.

OK well there you go. I didn't know Cap's theme from TFA reappeared in Avengers. I didn't recognise it at all. And while I had said it would seem wierd to referance the solo-movie score of one of the heroes but not the others, I guess if Silvestri was the one who did the Captain America: TFS score its more understandable.

It wasn't remeniscent of any of the individual scores. Which I actually prefer. It's unique to the Avengers.

Alan Silvestri > Patrick Doyle

THOR's score was pretty weak even tho it has its moments.
Both CA and TA scores were epic and oldschool. Just perfect.

I actually feel the opposite. Thor's Earth to Asgard is awesome, whereas Cap's theme sounds too much like a Western.

The point was to show that he's the most human character of them. Not a spy or assassin, not a scientist with some mental problems or rich ****** in exo-suit, not even a god from another planet. He's just a good guy on the duty who lost everything but still wants to protect the innocent. He will stand until the end no matter what and thereby inspire others.

Besides I like the fact that he was shown from the other side - despite the patriotic feel he's always looking for justice.

We got this instead!

Oh yeah!

Hulk. Though yes, Hulk's actual scenes were fantastic, I really felt Mark Ruffalo's caliber of acting really elevated Bruce Banner in the Avengers.

Iron Man easily because Robert Downey Jr is by far the best actor of the bunch.

It's not hard to act when your pretty much playing yourself.

Captain America is my favorite. But I like Iron man and Hulk too. Thor is pretty great as well.

**** it, I like all 4. Though I do love the leadership and "man out of time" characterization that Cap brings to the team. Then again, they all have great archetypes whether it be narcissism, anger/rage or a noble king.

Black Widow and Hawkeye don't do much for me.

All joking aside, my point was I wondered if Hawkeye had a more traditional look and role in the Avengers if he'd have been more popular. Although that would have probably precluded him from being in the movie at all.
