Re: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series!

The difference seems to be Nam had problems with MoS's story, character, etc... The question should be did he go in with the intention of hopefully enjoying the film and then afterwards finding he was disappointed?

I had big problems with what Supes ultimately did to Zod. It was untrue to the character. I don't care about Goyer's rationalization, it was done for shock value and to make Superman 'darker' and edgier. It was lazy writing. If you want to see Punisher go watch Punisher.

A number of people seem to look forward to hating Agents of SHIELD every week and talking it down for everyone else. If tomorrow night's episode is a slam dunk will the t ittybabies bother to say "hey, I think that was a step in the right direction".

I don't understand why if some hate it so much, why bother watching it anymore or even posting about it? I decided after one show and 10 minutes of another that Once Upon a Time in Wonderland was not for me. I won't be in that thread anymore.

If you're still watching it, it must have some redeeming qualities to it.

Privyet.......do you have to post multiples of the same gif all the time? One is plenty.

Re: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series!

Ask yourself this: "If it wasn't for the MARVEL UNIVERSE connection, would you watch this show?"
.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Mediocre at best...............:dunno

Trolling aside, I do find many bits from Shield to be very funny! they make me giggle, but overall I don't find the show that much fun, I was on the edge of my seat during the entirety of MoS.

Wish I could say the same. It bored me. In a different way than Superman Returns but it bored me nonetheless. I still need to give it a second viewing though, sometime.

Re: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series!

Superman returns didn't bore me at all, it carried the essence of the old movies and Routh did a phenomenal job, the part where the car's gonna crash and it suddenly starts floating, like if it was being moved by a cloud, to later see Superman underneath, was just brilliant.

Personally I don't need to see action to like a Superman story.

There were many good attributes to Superman Returns actually. That's one of the things I've repetitively banged on about - that I think it warranted a sequel with a supervillain. Singer no doubt would have addressed the problems with that first film. Someone told me it was all set to go ahead but he just...went off and did something else? Shame.

You remember those awesome feelings you got when Spiderman saved Aunt May in Spiderman 2, or Superman 1st flew in STM, or Blade put on his sunglasses in Blade 1, or Batman beats up Joker in TDK interrogation, or Avengers assembled for the 1st time, or Batman standing ontop of the building looking at the batsignal in Batman 89, or Brando's father speech to baby Kal-el in STM, those moments stay with you.

Well, MOS had none of that. :rotfl

It did, the moment when Supes is stepping out of his ship with his suit on was just as iconic as any of those, and that 1st flight sequence was straight up the best in Superman movie history, his smile while he was in the air, truly enjoying his new found ability is nothing but pure gold.

That was as epic as E.T. waddling off his ship. :lecture:lecture:lecture:exactly:

Singer didn't exactly feel the love after Superman Returns.

Returns had a sh--load of Hollywood bookkeeping inflating the budget. The costs for every aborted Sperman project since Tim Burton was rolled into the bottom line for Returns. The movie was deep in the hole before release and had the appearance of being over-budget.

Brett Ratner f'ed up and gave Singer an opening to return to X-men. First Class proved it was a good move.

For me that was just CGI effects, nothing for me to connect with emotionally.

Sure, it was the best Superman has ever looked while flying, but he better for christs sake, its 2013 effects and Snyder.

His smile felt forced, meant nothing for me.

The cape blowing looked cool when we first see him but that quickly faded because he had just walked out of some lame looking ship. :rotfl

I think CR looked more elegant while flying anyways. :rotfl

You're just trying way too hard not to like it :lol that smile was completely from the heart.

And that nearly didn't require CGI, nothing it couldn't have been done since 2000.
