Coulson's resurrection is being teased in each episode, clearly there's a plan. Hopefully it's Vision.

If Coulson becomes Vision the people who have been pessimistic and sitting out will be catching up and b itching about spoilers in the thread.

Did you all notice his scar over his heart that Loki gave him. It doesn't look like a normal scar. It looks almost as if there's something there, under the skin. And the color is odd as well.

Not this coming episode but the next will be directed by none other than Jonathan Frakes, Star Trek Riker!

Thsn after that one will be the two Thor 2 related episodes.

That sounds pretty cool.

So we get two Thor TDW related episodes. Sweet. Maybe Thor will actually show up in one of the episodes and gets totally freaked out that Coulson is alive. That would be interesting. Everybody who has seen TDW knows that a pretty big deal is running around in London.

Maybe Ruffalo. I'm not sure they'd want to waste a $$$ contractual appearance to push an already popular TV show.

They might consider throwing someone in there soon since ratings have dropped every single week, this show is now being trounced by both NCIS's as well as Person of Interest. It is still beating "the Goldbergs" and "CW shows", whatever tha **** that consists of.

CW shows would include WB's Arrow. So at least that's good.

I finally caught last week's episode, and I think I'm quickly losing interest in this show. As much as I love the Coulson character, I don't think he can carry a show, or at least how its currently structured. I find the rest of the cast to be completely uninteresting at this point, and the format is just isn't driving me to watch each week. Sure there's little teasers to an overall larger story, but its not tied together very well and there's only so many times you can have a story based off of Extremis or Chitauri stuff before it gets old.

They need to throw in a recognizable villain or character or something, or this show is going to continue to decline in the ratings. I just don't think many people are going to continually tune in each week if the story remains stale and predictable.

Not exactly. I like AoS, and, to be completely honest, I fully expected Arrow to be the same Smallville " romance/angst/super heroics" formula, but it's actually a really, really good show (I enjoyed Smallville, but I think Arrow's in a totally different league), and I think there's a lot of potential there, and, thus far, I think the show has a lot more substance than AoS.

That'd be my opinion, even if I wasn't a DC fanboy, and, if you get the chance (assuming you haven't seen it, yet), I'd highly recommend checking it out. The "shirtless Stephen Amell" posters do the show an injustice, IMO.

Arrow is a much better show in story, production, everything, probably why its one of the top CW shows. Unfortunately, being a top "CW" show still doesn't get you alot of viewers.

But its probably best to stick to the topic of what could be done to improve AoS in this thread, otherwise its going to slide into a waaahfest.

they didn't have their legs in the first season, some episodes were pretty much hardcore, then some were just seething with CW antics

This season I think they've got their balance and the writing seems on point.

This is all from the PoV of someone who only knows the basics of the Green Arrow mythos, so I'm not sure how a hardcore Arrow fan views the series, but I could never handle watching Smallville, and if it started going too far in that direction, I'd be jumping off.

As a Marvel guy, I am really impressed with Arrow. I never got into Smallville, but it's a great show and it really does make SHIELD pale in comparison, sadly.

But, AoS will have the luxury (thanks to great ratings in key demos and backing) to have some time to become a better show.

Well, just caught the latest episode, it was a funny one, and it's getting gradually better, perhaps there is still hope.

Liking Fitz-Simons a lot better than Skye now.

It's kind of the opposite of Smallville, actually. Shaky start, but, if you can get past the first half of season one (which, to be fair, isn't too difficult because of the Island flashbacks interspersed throughout), you're rewarded with what may very well be the solid foundation of a DCTVU.

I wrote Arrow off as well. I thought it was just a Smallville spinoff. The CW link made me put my guard up.

I watched the first season or so of Smallville before the stories of the producer's contempt for Superman started to get out. "No flights, no tights". Excuse me, but if you don't like Superman go make some other show. Don't sh-t on one of my favorite characters. Ultimately they show Welling rip his shirt open in the last scene of the last episode. I feel vindicated in skipping out.

Arrow is nothing like Smallville and easily the most well-made series on the CW. First season was fantastic, and so far the second has been even better.

A whole lot better than this Avengers show. You superhero comic nerds are missing out.
