Have you considered that to the artist, it isn't broken, and therefore doesn't require "fixing"? Many people have expressed that they don't like certain aspects of this statue. Many have said its perfect to them. So your "fix" might make the people that like it the way it is very unhappy.

I'm sorry you don't like the statue as it is, JosephCPR. But to Adam and to the sculptor, it turned out the way they wanted it to. And many of the fans posting here seem very happy with it the way it is. Just because some collectors don't like it; doesn't mean it isn't good. This isn't a job where the likeness needs to look like a living human being; like Aragorn or Lando. This is artistic interpretation. Its not "wrong" or "bad" or "broken"; its simply not to your liking. And unfortunately, its impossible to create something artistic that everyone will agree on.

It's true that some people like as it is but I wouldn't say so many do. Just look at the polls here (9-19) and on statueforum (9-46) so you don't have a consistent argument there. My opinion is just that it can be improved...nothing else, and my only choice is to buy it or not...but I'm really sorry you don't appreciate and/or consider the positive or negative feedback we, fans and collectors, give to you.

WOW!!!! That was completely unintentional on Adam's part, or the part of the sculptor, but WOW! That is a pretty close likeness!

i'm one of the ones that like it as is. there is a lot of talent on these boards, and i'm sure most that aren't happy would be able to do the minor touch up themselves.

I'm not trying to be critical of your opinion; I am trying to help you see our perspective. Also; while you might have as many as 49 people that like your "fix"; even if only 1000 are made, thats still only 5%. And no harm meant to the folks on the boards; but most collectors don't come here and post. They see something they like, they order it, it arrives, and they display it. And they do all this never hopping online to weigh in on a vote regarding the statue's nose or eye make up. I don't think the online community here accurately represents all collectors.

Please; if you do not like the Black Queen statue; do not feel like you have to order it. No one wants you to own something you will not be happy with. But your PMing me about fixes, and posting about it, and polling about it really isn't going to make Adam feel that your version of the Black Queen better represents his idea of how she should look.

On a side note; I recall alot of hate mail about Emma Frost's "Helmet hair" and now she is the most sought after statue of the bunch. History on this line tells me that the Black Queen will do just fine with her pig nose and her under-done make-up.

heck; its already been finished, and then edited, and then gone back for a re-sculpt. Sideshow and Adam keep Tim busy!

You mentioned the blue eyes wouldn't get changed to green on the basis that she's been colored with blue eyes before. Yes she has, but it was a coloring mistake. Just because others have made that mistake shouldn't mean its ok to just thrown that eye color on her. Every stat page and even characters have mentioned she has green eyes, not blue. She's supposed to have green eyes that can flare up to red/orange when she's using her powers.

Just my 2 cents.

Chrono, that's a valid suggestion, good catch.

Also, I've been posting very little over this year precisely because every single new release in virtually every line sends board people into Photoshopping frenzy. Emma's hair -- exactly. This is just a behavioral pattern I like to stay away from as much as I can, as it's quite unhealthy.

Now -- Tim the Sculptor? I don't believe I ever got the names of the people who did the five AH! statues. Blame my infrequent visits, but I'd love to know.

EDIT -- Wish, she won't; she's not a mixed-media (Premium Format) statue, but a polystone comiquette. They're all polystone, with an occasional plastic accessory (like Black Cat's grate).

again; the lighting on this is bit off. I don't see her eyes as glaringly blue in these photos. Looking at the shots we have; they are sort of a grayish blue green.

People with real green eyes (not colored contacts) have eye color that isn't kelly green or emerald green. Green eye color and some of the lighter blue eye colors are highly reflective. My own eyes are very light blue,. If I wear a green shirt, my eye color looks green. If I wear reds, my eyes look really blue in comparison. Many people with green eyes look as if thier eyes are hazel. Here is a chart of human eye color. The two in the middle are considered to be green eyes:

I don't think Jean wears colored contacts; so I think the statue's eye color is accurate to Adam's idea of a more realistic styled, and less cartoony rendering.

I hate to be another praise monkey, but well done I say!. The design is distinctive enough to stand on its own, yet has the distinctive AH! touch that goes with the other 3 released comiquettes.

Whoa. PM'ing changes and alterations?!?!? Come on people, its one thing to voice your opinion about the piece or even show some changes you've done for yourself but actually badgering DarthSaffron goes over the line. Its nice to have a link to the actual artist lets not drive her away....

Looking at Adam's sketches, I have to say that Tim Miller came close to the art but didn't capture it completely whether Adam signed off or not. From the side profile I see the bulbocity but from the semi front profile you can see its straighter with the bulb not so pronounced.

I'm willing to take another look when the better photos are shown as DarthSaffron said that the pics have poor lighting, etc but still not sold.
