Picked up the Akira variant poster off ebay. I didn't realize how tight those tubes are sealed for the print. Bought it sealed and there is a small blemish dead center of the print. Oh well, it is very cool nonetheless. Here's hoping there is some time before they do any other anime movies...

The Akira prints weren't sold in tubes. They were sold without tubes at the screening. The just rolled them up and put rubber bands around them.

Don't know why I was thinking that it was sold sealed since the auction specified that. I must have been thinking hard about the mailing tube since the thing was sealed very well. I had to take it slow as not to damage the print and immediately posted on the piece.

Someone else had a blemish on their Akira. That would normally bug me, but just having the chance to see one in person would be awesome.

This would normally bother me as well but I figure that the blemish won't detract from the print when framed up. At least that's what I'm hoping since I did pay a fair amount for it.

The blemish shouldn't detract at all. I have plenty of posters that have tiny flaws that aren't noticeable when framed unless you are just searching for it. That print has so much going on that that will probably be the last thing you will be looking at when it is framed.

The only version of the devil's backbone print i was interested in was the red. Apparently so was everyone else. I think it sold out in under two minutes. The others were decent, but the red really stood out. Congrats if anyone got one.

Watch ebay. You will probably be able to get one for retail once they start shipping. The Pan's have already pretty much come down to cost.

does anyone have any tips for framing, i just bought a 24 by 32 frame for my new print, but i know i cant just stick it in, any tips......

Get clear photo tips for the corners. They look like triangles and are used to hold photographs in scrapbooking albums. The print gets inserted in the pocket and you don't have to glue or tape the print.

OH NOOOO!!!!

Seems like Stout is doing a Captain America poster. Great. With me working Fridays ans Thursdays now, I have no chance of getting it at a reasonable price.

The Stout Cap piece when we see it I'm sure will look great. Will do everything I can to get it to go with my Iron Man and Thor posters. I'd be tempted on the Transformers piece if it had Optimus on it but otherwise its a pass.

Someone at EB e-mailed Stout and asked if the cover art was going to be released as a print/poster, and this was the reply:

Thanks for the email and your interest in Tyler's work. At the moment there are no for sure plans to make a Captain America print. That might change and if so we'll get the word out as soon as possible.

Personally, I think it's very much going to happen. Since they're dealing with big companies like Paramount and Marvel, they probably will deny the posters existence until it's announced. Getting those companies on your case would be bad biz.
