How about one of these...

Its new from Kotobukiya. They seem to be in England right now. Not 100% sure of the scale, but I read its about 4-5 inches high.

If we only had the Nostromo astronauts, this would go perfect.

Well I just checked with a dealer online and the egg is about 2 inches and the facehugger another 2 inches... so this is NOT 1/6th scale.

The egg needs to be about knee-high, right? So that's about 3 inches minimum.

Well, trying to get Ripley dressed and finished was driving me nuts, so I set her aside and finished up Hudson.

I still need to fix him up a bit, but as my first Marine, I think he turned out alright. By the way, did the torso plate belt go over the groin guard or behind it?

Looks nice. I can't wait. Thanks for posting a picture. Was Ripley giving you a hard time?

Is anyone else going to replace the HT knife with an appropriate black sheath?

Also, I plan to wrap his left arm in bandage just to make him a little more distinctive.

For someone with such a simple outfit, she's been a pain trying to get right. Tomorrow I'll have to get out the hair dryer and get to work.

The belt goes over the groin guard.

good pic showing the calender on his helmet cover.

My memory is a bit rusty, doesn't he have the 8 ball on there too?

Need to go to my old ALIENS web pages and check as well as my AEF aliens instructions.

Cool! All we need now are the aliens.
I just wish they where movie accurate.

I just put Drake and Ripley together....Hudson will have to wait a few.

Just a feel notes for those curious.

Ripley is the easiest out of all the USCM series figures to put together (duh). Hot Toys even put the black duct tape that she strapped around the pulse rifle and the flamethrower...wow!!!Very impressive and while the head might not be painted the right way, at least a good repaint will give it that Weaver look (like the Figuremaster so beautifully showed us!).Just be a little careful with her boots...the foot pieces are somewhat loose in there and it can be a little tough to catch the piece that you push into the hole in the bottom of the leg.I got one pretty easy but the other one was bent down and I had to use a pair of tweezers to pull the joint pole up a bit.I eventually just pushed hard on the boot and held the foot steady inside and I got it to click in.

Drake is awesome and once again, actor Mark Rolston's likeness is there...just not the appropriate colors. It looks like Hot Toys also learned from Vasquez. The armor seemed easier to secure this time around and certain parts like the shoulder clips appeared to be sturdier than Vasquez's.Drake's vest is also a fantastic piece of work feeling just like a winter vinyl (or whatever) vest should feel like.It even has all the USCM badges and even a name badge attached via velcro. Drake's ankles are different in that they have ball joints at the bottom and his boots actually have a little hole you those ball joints to snap into. This is a great improvement as it actually adds more inversion and eversion articulation to his ankle than just twisting it around in a circle. But one of the big difference is that Drake upper torso is the Hot Toys muscle body which I take as both good and bad. This is my first HT muscle body so I was worried about the limitations of it and was careful when I moved his limbs as I didn't want to tear the rubber.I do wish the rubber around the underarms was produced to handle stretching better as I think that might be a place where future tears might occur. The arms did manage to get out to a position to hold the Smartgun, but in terms of articulation they are inferior to the standard arms. I just hope that Hot Toys does some improvements to the muscle body in the hope that they can support a bigger range of articulation without the fear of tearing (especially if they do some 300 figures!).

Looks great Josh!

How or where do you get that elastic strap for his helmet?

Thanks Nash! I actually stole it from Hudson, as I have two... Gonna use all the rest of the parts to make a Colonial Marine version of myself. And after studying the film and some of the most accurate prop replications... I noticed that he needed the band on his helmet.

AWESOME repaint on the Hicks (Hudson) Stoner head D.A.! Love the Tattoo on Hicks' arm too. He doesn't come like that does he? You added the tattoo? Also, where did you find this AWESOME Hicks armor reference? We need to see more of these types of references here...for accuracies sake! :D

Again, bang-up job on Hicks man!:chew

You need a GERBER knife for the other side of the armour. The one on Hicks is on the wrong side. It is also wrapped with black electrical tape. ( You can see it in the photo) I think one of the DEVGRU figures out there has the knife if you want to do a search for one? ( not sure which company makes it though)

Fantastic repaint DA ! Looking forward to seeing you as a marine!

That arm paint looks great, looks very much like arm hair.

Bardoon I'm not a fan of the HT muscle body either. If Toybiz can make muscular arms that won't break down over time, crack, and look just as good, so could Hot Toys. I know some don't like to look at the seams on the arms, but there doesn't seem to be any way that's better. You'll just have to get use to it.

Thanks guys! I did add the tattoo... it's very well seen on my autograph photo... which I never would have noticed unless I had it.

As for the reference... I did a google search and found this guy who had a replica made by the very same artist who made the screen prop.

Here are a few more pics...

This is very strange dude, I've noticed that Hicks comes with a lot of Hudsons gear and Hudson with Hicks....

I think Hot Toys got confused with who was who when they put together these kits. Hicks isnt supposed to have that Key on his cod piece, only Hudson does. Also the knife placement, and the band on the helmet. I dont get it.

That tin can key thing, it's on all the marines who wear armor. Apone also has a latch for the padlock on his chest. The knife is reuse from other modern military soldier kits. The head band thing I think is just an oversight on HT part. Reuse is HT's way of cutting costs.
:lol talking about the tin can key thing got me to look at it more closely on Apone, I then just broke the key off.
What's under this piece, is there some kind of huge hole where the piece is glued on? I don't need a visible hole or slit there. :rotfl
