Yeah, I should've gone in on the big group order, but I have been stressed to the gills. My car got hit while parked and the "hitter" said she wanted to avoid insurance. Since my car has almost 200,000 miles on it, I figured this could be a blessing. After an estimate proved that it would be a costly repair, she elected to pursue insurance, so I have been working double, and without a car, so I haven't been around much this week.

Given the quality of Mikey's work, I still think at the higher cost it is a steal!!! I don't think I would have it in me to paint it myself!

Agreed, and it's there for you if you want. Sorry to hear the news but try to look on the bright side, you're saving tons on gas, and you can probably play guilt-free Road Warrior now.

Agreed Wor-Gar and Seward...There's no WAY I ever could have imagined such an onslaught of HIGH-END collectible figures that I've wanted since I was a kid from fave films of the 80s! 1/6 ALIENS marines, 1/6 ROBOCOP and ED-209, High-quality 1/6 STAR WARS figures...Man, all i need now to complete my 80's want list is a high-quality set of the 4 GHOSTBUSTERS from the original film, and Marty and Doc in various outfits from the 3 BACK TO THE FUTURE films...WOW!

Oh, and Wor-Gar, I'm sure we're not alone with the dream of a 1/6 and 1/4 INDIANA JONES from RAIDERS! I have a 'sneaky' suspicion that SS will launch an Indy line with the release of Indy 4...There's certainly enough people on this board that would JUMP on anything Indy...and SS already has one Lucasfilm license paying off...why not another one!

:chew :chew :chew :chew :chew

I'm in for GHOSTBUSTERS and BTTF! I've been looking for Peter, Ray and Egon for years.

On yeah, and Indy would ne nice.

Actually, it looks pretty ghetto having my mirror duct-taped to the side of the car, much like the cloven horn of Boromir...

Why so glum about the prospects of a henriksen figure. In all of the DVD bonus material I have seen him in, he seems pretty down to earth, if very much an eccentric actor.

He also made the Art Tiles that SS is selling, so I would guess that an already existing relationship might help with the process.

I doubt we would ever get a "Cameron" Director figure though...:lol

I just think HT will go with Marines and Ripley for now and there are more Marines to go. I really want a Newt but I doubt we'll see her anytime soon either.

You may want to consider getting a SSC X Files Hendrickson and repainting his head, the sculpt isn't bad at all and he comes with a blue-ish shirt.

Actually, I think it's safe to say that SST's sculpt of Hendriksen will always be more accurate than HotToy's.

Hmm, I think a Lydecker figure would be cool, too. :rotfl

When the marines arrive, I may have to seek out Frank Black to do some customizing with. Maybe a Jason coule provide the basic jumpsuit (or a Luke!!!:lol ). I am really excited to see how big these are next to the Sideshow counterparts. I know they are all 1/6 scale, but I wouldn't want to see Bishop having a giant head or something next to everybody else!

You can always fit your repainted Lance head on a smaller SS body, outfit him with a jumpsuit and you're ready to go!

I just got my SST Luke and, surprisingly enough, he's about as tall as Apone and Hicks... so the other figures would be taller than them.
Which makes me wonder about the real scale of SST figures.

Apone heads have arrived! They are amazing! Seemless, flawless sculpts! Can't wait to get started!

He's gonna look fantastic with pale skin and Sith eyes!!!:rotfl

Excellent news!

If you have time, can you post a picture of the heads before painting? I'm curious how they look.

This is indeed EXCITING Mikey! Can't wait for my SITH APONE head!!! HAHA!!! :emperor

Is this the SDCC exclusive APONE? 1 of only 3 worldwide??? I'd hate to see what happened to Sideshow's servers the day THIS exclusive went up for sale! Glad I was one of the lucky (ahem) few to have gotten one! :lol

But is she wearing the tiny underwear?...
Yes, Mikey, that tiny, tiny underwear. Amazing isn't it? Anyway, a good occasion for me to bring up that scene, where Ripley, after abandoning the Nostromo in the escape ship Narcissus, slowwwwly steps into a clean, white space suit ... designed by the Belgian comic legend MOEBIUS. What a breath taking scene that is.

"In space, no one can hear you scream"

Grr. I'm housesitting all week and although I brought my paints along, the lighting in this place SUCKS!!! I'll try to get back to my place sometime to take pics of the unpaintd heads, but I won't be able to paint until the weekend. But once the work starts, it'll go VERY quickly. I can usually finish paintwork on heads within a day.
Sorry for the delay. I can tell you that they are just gorgeous heads. Let me know if you're planning on helmeting this guy, and I'll try to reinforce the paint as best I can, but there's always the danger of scratching if you mess with a custom-painted head too much.

My guy will be posed with and without his helmet.

I always thought I'd pose Apone with his helmet, but now I may consider posing him without as Hicks will have his on -- it really depends on the sculpt and how he looks holding his helmet.

I know its always riskey to put helmets on painted heads -- I have a Boba Fett custom that suffers from that dilemma -- but I have no problem doing touch-ups over time if I scratch him. If you can seal the head, Mikey, that's all I can ask.
