Les, your repaint is fantastic!
I was just looking at both aliens and wished the HT alien had a paint scheme closer to the McF's.

dittos here gdb, like the effect a lot Les!

It's actually VERY easy to achieve...again, just some drybrushed acrylic enamels.
I used Model Master Acryl flat black (yes, flat seems to blend better with metallics for the right amount of sheen, plus it adheres to the rubber better without flaking off...),and Steel (dark silver) and Gold. Then used minor amounts of gloss black in some places...those weird things on the sides of his head, and in cracks and seams and for some washes if the metallics were too pronounced.
Otherwise, that's it. Took about 15 minutes because you can't put too much on or it won't stick. Anyone else brave enough to try will get the same effects. Just use a VERY dry (well wiped off) brush when painting. Not much paint needed at all....
You do have to retouch up some rubber areas that are handled a lot, like around the waist area, but the paint does dry and doesn't flake off.

Biggest obstacle is the fear of starting such an exercise on such an expensive figure!

How do-able do you think it would be to "customize" this alien into the original Giger version like you did with the McF?

Can't answer for Les, but I'd think it's almost impossible to turn the AvP warrior into the Alien drone.
The body structure is just too different.
Of course, Les is a miracle worker!

I'm not really a Predator or Alien fan but I got hooked on the HT AVP Alien Warrior after seeing Chase's awesome pics....

I just got this masterpiece today! I'm really impressed with this figure and can't help staring at it, taking pics and trying different poses...It's money well-spent and I'm looking forward to more HT Alien figures!

I am assembling an army of Gorilla soldiers to march into the throws of battle and raise or flag on the turret of such a vehicle and ride it back to me in victory!!!
Hell, I'd love to have the pieces he didn't use on it!!

I'm with you Galactiboy. As cool as the AVP warrior looks and sounds it only has me convinced that the Alien and Aliens warrior will be everything we know it will be so I'm saving the money to build an army of those suckers. Good things come to those who wait.
