and Les, If the HT figures could be got for SS prices I'd pick a Ripley up, because that PL version is a GREAT idea.... but at HT prices sadly there's no way I'll be able to pick one up. Probably not until way after the buzz around these figures has been and gone anyway.

Yeah, that's an awesome idea!! I'd love to see that worked up. As for Ripley.. you can bet I'll repaint mine, as well as Hudson and maybe Drake if I can pick him up. They are all good sculpts, well maybe not Hudson... but it can be salvaged. Expect to see the entire crew.

I'm also going to fully weather the armor on Hudson and Hicks, so look out for that. The HT armor is really nice, but needs a little roughing up.... I'll see what I can do.

I actually saw one in a store in Tulsa, OK the other day. I think he was $150, but they had him and Vasquez (I know she was $150) and it was a 2 for one deal. If I didn't already have Hicks I would have snatched them up.

Just wanted to give you a cool Morrison related story:

My mom has a house in Alameda near Oakland. There's a comic book store there - or at least there used to be one. Apparently a young Jim Morrison used to hang out at that store when it used to be a book store and he had a habit of doodling on the pages of the books.

So in the mid 90s - I went to the comic store and the guy there showed me some drawings that he said were Morrison's. And he said that there's a lot of used books floating around the bay area that has Morrison sketches in them.

Would be pretty cool to have one of those doodles, huh?

Anyways - just a neat diddy. Back to your topic.

I received my first Hot Toys piece yesterday and it is the Chopper Predator, the packaging is very nice and I was very impressed when I opened it and saw all the parts. My joy ended when I put this guy together, the body net was a PITA to put on and I thought I was going to rip it pulling it over his shoulders. The armor while elaborate I had to use tweezers to get the straps in and out of the buckles. Finally the worst part was getting his head on, I thought I was going to break something on the guy with the force I was exerting to get the head seated. Finally I put a touch of lube around the inner opening of the neck and with some force got it on. The worst part is I left the skull necklace off and dread the thought of pulling off the head to put it on. The detail is great and the figure is cool but seeing some of the Sideshow 12" I don't feel it was worth the extra $80 you shell out compared to a SS fig.

I found a site that still had Apone instock for retail so picked him up and got him today, now this guy is worth the 80 bucks the pouches and straps on the harnesses and weapons rock. Even though I have not assembled him in the words of Apone is piece is "Absolutely Badass" Sadly I procrastinated and missed out on Hicks but have Hudson on order along with the Aliens Warrior. I will for sure pick up some more CM's but I am content with the one Predator.

I had similar difficulties assembling the Predator Elder a while back, and I found that a combination of a tiny bit of lube around the neck post and the use of a hairdryer around the hole in the head part made it relatively easy to pop the head right on. Bottom line, you really need to be patient and take your time with these! I made all the adjustments to the armour and other accessories by dressing the figure and arranging it the way I wanted it to look BEFORE putting on his head... 'Cause once it was on, I knew it would be hell trying to get it off again! Anyway, a hairdryer definitely makes things go a lot easier! If you want to take the head off again, that would probably be your best bet. Hope this helps! BTW, congrats on finding Apone. I couldn't believe it when the first three figures were released, so I just had to get all of 'em...and now I'm glad I did!

Probably will use my rewards points and grab Drake. I think a good repaint will bring out the sculpt a bit. Either way, I have to have at least one Smart Gun jockey in the group.

You probably won't be interested, but I know a shop in Osaka that still has at least one Hicks (saw it today, in fact), for about $125.00. I'm sure that's more than you want to pay, but at least he's still in stock... I'm sure you could do much better on fleabay, but if you're interested, let me know. The postage cost is another matter, and that ain't cheap either, I'm afraid...

Now you're cooking bro, gotta have Vas, she saved Rip, Hicks and Newt by sacificing her life for them and was the last Marine to survive except Hicks. Gorman doesn't count as much as Vas because he was always calling the shots from a secure location and was infirmed for much of the attacks, but he did rip that facehugger off Ellen and joined with Vas in sacrifing his life too... KA-BLAM!

Drake, well he was the tip of the spear, man, first into the lab, led the troops into all those dark places, gotta have him too!

The whole body is Brown like it was on Alien 3 and Alien Resurrection (yes I know these are different designs). The Dome is brown and the body dark blue or black on the regular Alien.
