the only thing that is really bugging me about this is that right hand with the funky looking fingers.

It looks to me like the right arm can be removed. So I think I'm going to attempt to take off the arm and do a lil' modification to some of the funky lookin fingers on this Big Chap when I get mine. I'm pretty sure a bunch of us are going to try to do the same thing also. :lol

actually, now that I looked at the zoomed pics, both hands look wonky as hell, I really don't know what the sculptor was thinking on those. I can look over the pose, but damn those hands.

I certainly appreciate artistic license, but the hands do look a little overdone. All that aside...this piece is gonna be impressive...and exspensive. I hope I get a large tax return in March!

now that I sold my CM, I was looking into this one to fill the void for my new found appreciation of the Giger creature, but damn, most US discounted retailers are sold out already :horror:slap

Get the Sano if this isn't to your liking.

Buy both and be really, really happy. :yess:

though the Sano is more accurate, the size and price is very off putting. The SS maquette is only an inch smaller then the CM Alien and is much cheaper then both. I think the SS version has some things going for it that I like more then the CM too, but the CM has many good points as well, just couldn't afford to keep it right now.

now that I sold my CM,

You sold it? :thud: You loved that thing, you spoke so highly about it countless times on this forum. Why would you... :huh

My thoughts exactly. I wanted a tall (over 24") Chap and my choices were the CM or SS version. I went with the SS version for many reasons, but the one that sealed the deal was the cheaper price compared to the others. Best bang for the buck if you ask me. plus the sculpt and paint app looks pretty darn good as well.

I just pre~ordered the Sano piece to only complete my Alien collection. As I was in need of a museum accurate sculpt of the Giger Alien. The smaller scale and expensive price does suck but, the sculpt looks incredible and that alone was worth the hefty price tag imo.

If I were you, I'd go with the SS maquette. :rock

:lol. Well the thing is a guy near me had both the CM Pred and Alien for sale and he wouldn't split them up as I was only interested in the Pred, so I had no choice but to buy them both. This was all a couple weeks ago. The CM Alien was my first Giger Alien statue. Overall, a great piece, the best part being the signature of Giger on the base and on the COA. The pose, not bad in person compared to what's seen in pics. I loved the chrome teeth, the dome, the peeling effect, and the size of it. You can't go wrong with a CM piece cause you will never be dissapointed in the quality of their items. I simply couldn't afford to keep it as I couldn't sale enough of my other statues for descent prices.

I think the biggest reason why the CM has never taken off into the $2-3k range has nothing to do with the piece itself; I think it has more to do with the SS maquette at the same size for a much cheaper price, but I think the signatures with the CM account for a higher price tag and an overall better quality product then the SS version will prolly be, so that explains why I let it go. If the SS version wasn't coming out at a cheaper price, I would have never considered it. I just hope SS doesn't have another QC flop with this piece. That's something you never have to worry about with CM.

You could wait for in hand pics to make your mind up then get one from someone who will declare the value for you so you don't pay a lot in customs - but you may pay more for postage that way ofcourse.
