Just keep the dust off. I always wash my rubber suited figs with soap and water to remove any mold releasing agent that might be on.

:lecture. I've done the same for my HT muscle bodies ( do the aliens/kane figures use the same kind of rubber ) and displayed them for over 2 years with no deterioration or cracks. i just wash them with soap and water from time to time when they get too dusty/dirty. no problems yet, I display them in an air conditioned room with temps ranging from 20 - 35 Celsius.

Does anyone even have a moist room? How does one moisten (should that be moisturise?) their room??

Do I have to keep watered plants in my display cabinet with all my figs??!!! :naughty

They sell humidifiers (as well as dehumidifiers) so you can adjust the humidity of a room to almost exactly what you want. Too dry and too humid are both issues...

The following table shows recommended indoor humidity levels in relation to outdoor temperatures.

Those freaking morons should stop using rubber.

:lecture:lecture:lecture
I really wanted these figures, but the possibility of them breaking down in the future forced me to cancel these and likely never buy them.
I still think it was a cheap solution to give them rubber suits instead of trying for real cloth.

i think rubber has reached its limit of uses in the toy world
and I always thought rubber was protection in itself :lol

:rolleyes::rolleyes:

I still have original GI Joe scuba diver suits from the 60's that are still flexible and uncracked. Keep the stuff relatively cool, out of sunlight, and clean and the lifespan of rubber type items can be surprising.

And for gawd's sake stay away from Armor-All...

I just received my Dallas today and I can see why peopple are worried. Kinda regret buying it now.

I'm just gonna set mine up, take a few pics then just put him back in the box and look at it from time to time. And when the time is right, sell the ^^^^er!!

thats not the best review I have seen:lol

all this F'n crying over rubber on 12" figures :slap what are the actual issues that have happened? and don't bring up the ED-209, or the Alien. I mean really....:monkey2 :monkey2 :monkey2 people are acting like these things are going to crumble into little pieces within a year. :lol
but I do wonder about my Wolf bust.

Jebus, I know. I just bought a Dallas and the last thing on my mind was the possibility of the rubber breaking down. I have an ED-209 with some very minor pock marks on the gray rubber and it's only b/c that material is stretched onto the top of the piece--but it's still not enough for me to want to sell him, he's way too cool. And I've wanted a Dallas figure since Kenner canceled their Aliens line, no way was I gonna pass on this one. If you just keep the rubber clean and don't let it dry out, it should be fine. The long term effect of Armor-All on your figures will sweat out the chemicals in the rubber and make them tacky. I used to use it on my old displays in the 90's (not on the figures though) and it was enough to still effect them today. A few of my Thundercats have tackiness around their feet.

I think these figures will last quite a while. I love them , its the last thing on my mind , the rubber wearing away.

i like to display my rubber suited figures in a tank of distilled water with just a hint of washing up liquid. keeps them from drying out and they smell lemon fresh :D
