In all honesty, I don't like the base neither. However, there's ways to fix that.
I'm 100% sure I can improve upon the base. Just got an new airbrush today.

This piece is OK, at best...and that's it.

I guess SS and the Gore Group didn't bother to read any of the posts we had about what we were wanting for the Queen dio.

I can't count how many wanted the Eggsack dio...and nobody mentioned anything about the final battle...but, here it is.

I thought about ordering this the moment it went up, kept waking up every half hour to see it announced.

Then I saw the $400 price tag and a limit of 2 per order, decided not two.

If SS had made this $300 and a small ES, more people would have been excited. ES=1000+, and will be available down the road.

I'm super stoked! Count me in. I've waited a whole year since the last Alien diorama, the line that brought me into the Sideshow fold, and finally a Queen is announced! She looks brilliant, seriously. Yeah, its expensive, but Alien is on the top of my collection wants. I cannot wait to see the Power Loader with Ripley. I only hope it costs a bit less and comes with an exclusive version.

Mesa - What makes you think the edition size will be so large on this one?

$399 is way to steep for this. It should have been more in the $300 range.

I would have liked for it to have had a better base but I see that they are going to go with the VS scene at the end of the movie.

But with both of them its gonna cost at least $800.

As said many times before....I agree, it is overpriced. I'd me more than happy to get it for $300 if I can find it. I think SS thought it should fetch more simply because it's the Queen.

As for the Qvipositor diorama. I guess you guys should try to find the kit by AEF Design. It's not "sideshow quality", but I think it looks coo.

BTW, just look at this thing!
It surely would have cost 1k if made by Sideshow.

The more i look at the pictures on sideshow the more and more i fall inlove with this piece. i cant wait to get my hands on it. And the price tag does'nt bother me i think when we all have it in our hands the size will be big and the detail will be amazing. I LOVE THIS PIECE and yes its not the egg dio but its still the queen. I love hoe side show have postioned her, the whole walking look.

and plus if they had her on her thrown, we would see her in all her mighty, thats why her walking it great you get to see all of her. and i love that . Bec if she was on her thrown with egg sack and eggs there would'nt be space for her to be big. she would have to act be quite small to fit it all in. So I think it truly shows off her size and monster look. its great :chew

I think this piece is sweet, and will be picking it up. I actually quite like the base as it forms part of the one of the best scenes in the movie IMO. Alot of the other model kits etc have the egg base etc so it's nice to see something new. This and the powerloader will look hot as a display piece.
