Each SSF Member ordering a kit must agree that this special one time SSF offer price (tbd) will be for the personal use and Collection of the Buyer and for no other purpose. 33% Downpayment per kit will be required to secure your kit(s) once Angie nears her start date pending final Mech Drawings Approval.

Pjam was not far from the truth with that last comment! If I were not directly involved with the project and was only waiting like the rest of you for this thing to happen, the only update I'd really be interested in hearing would be, "Hey everybody, the drawings are done!". I can't tell you all how much I am looking forward to that announcement, and I'm sorry to say that it won't be today! This has been a very time consuming and tedious WIP and is going much slower than I had anticipated at the outset, but what I've got so far is looking good. I've studied this weapon so much that I even dream about it, I **** you not. I could sketch it from any angle blindfolded. Well, almost. Anyway, this is an experience I will most definitely never forget!

Here's a progress report, in brief. I received initial specs from Sentry 1 that had to be converted to 1/6 scale first. Then I needed to establish certain key measurements from which the various views (overhead, right & left sides, etc.) of the gun and its components would be drawn. Those needed to be checked for accuracy. The specs I received were not complete, so there have been quite a few blanks that needed to be filled in, using photos and screen grabs for reference. Having the key measurements established has made that somewhat easier. There have been a few problems that needed to be worked out, but so far everything is checking out and there have been no major setbacks... other than not having enough time to devote to getting these finished!!!

I'd been thinking about Chris and what his reaction might be when we finally completed this project. I'm so sorry that he won't be able to see it for himself now. I very much want this unique piece of the Aliens legacy to be one that Chris would not only have thought was just "pretty cool", but one that he would've absolutely needed to add to the weapons hold of his legendary 1/6 scale scratch-built USCM APC model!!! So to that end, please hang in there for as long as it takes me to post that long awaited final update. I'm honored to be able to do this for us, and deeply grateful for everyone's continued patience. :bow

Finally got through reading all the posts in this thread, only took me two days.:lol

I've just recently joined the SSF board after lurking for many months. And then STENDEC told me about this wonderfull project getting underway and I just HAD to get in on.

ALIENS is my favorite movie and I've just recently re-begun to collect 1:6th stuff for this movie with HT's releases. I've also been a member of other ALIENS related forums, so I hope to bring the info I've learned there, here.

I do have some pictures to add, so here they go.

I would further like to add that the power pack for the sentry guns were made from a British field radio of the PRC family. Probably in the neighborhood of 8-10 (PRC field radio 9, etc.) The connector plug that we see Hudson use to "power up" the sentry gun in the extended scenes is a red Nutrix plug (and slightly repainted), often used in audio equipment for stage use (picture available if needed).

Amazing pics spooky, best I've seen!

I think you just helped make this project even better!

Thanks so much and again, welcome to the Crew. :D

You've got a real treasure trove of pictures there! By all means, feel free to post whatever else you've got... it's all going to a good cause! Any descriptions you'd like to offer would also be greatly appreciated. :D

I too thank you for the great reference pics. They will help greatly with the decals.

Hey! Surprise, surprise! I've been wondering if you were still with us, haven't seen any posts from you for quite a while. Great to have you back! What an unexpected collection of great pics to fall in our laps, hey? :google

Especially nice ones of the radio... uh, battery pack markings. I sure wasn't expecting this, but the timing really couldn't have been better!

Wow, those are really outstanding pictures! I think we should have some great reference material for the guns now! By the way, where did you see that gun on display like that? Is that you "spooky" in one of the pictures in the USCM armor with the pulse rifle? Thanks again for all of the great pictures! :D

Nope, not me, although I do have a set of armor waiting on painting and assembly.:D

And I can't take credit for those photos, I was just lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time and saved them. I can supply pictures of the Nutrix plug, although it will be such a small piece in 1:6th scale, I'm not sure any details would show. Not that it's very detailed to begin with.:lol

I've wanted to build a 1:1 sentrygun and I've been hunting through eBay using the PRC info I have, but no dice so far. The ones I've found are close.
Not much else I can offer right off the top of my head, but if I find out anything more, I'll be sure to post it here.

Oh, and to confirm- spooky-1 sentrygun in kit form :D

I've been lurking around, just haven't posted much. Been busy with 1/1 life, but I keep checking in here to follow the progress.

hey guys, any updates on the work?

Should be getting another update from Mudshark very soon.

Btw, I found another Caster to bid on our project thanks to Trevor Grove. :D His name is Mike Allen and he runs a shop called Forbidden Zone. I believe they may also cast stuff for Sideshow...

https://www.forbidden-zone.biz/index.htm

The other is Mike Evans from Alchemy Works who was recommended by our very own Lt. Portman as I recall...
