Yep same reason why my anime collection is very limited. Anime is just to expensive. I like to make sure I actually like the anime before I buy it.

I've seen Maison Ikkoku, but felt that it was too long and drawn out. If you can find it and if you're into romantic comedy/drama anime, one of the all time classics is "Video-Girl-Ai"

I have seen Video Girl AI. It definitely wasn't long and dranw out. In fact, I thought it was a little too short. It has been a long time but I remember enjoying the series.

The thing I liked about Maison Ikkoku is that the two main characters were a little more flawed than in typical anime. The male lead didn't really stand out except that he had a god heart and tended to make choices that put him in hilariously bad situations. While the female lead seemed a little too perfect in the beginning, later developments showed that she tended to be jealous and had difficulty idenitifying her own emotions. Underneath the humor, it was a much more nuanced drama compared to typical japanese fare.

Well, I FINALLY got a hold of a brand-new Trigun box set for cheap, the OG release from Geneon.

Tonight, I'm beginning this piece of awesomeness. I've watched the first few episodes years back but never followed through with it. I know...I know...It's a classic from what I hear, but better late than never.

Now, all I need is the original boxed set of Cowboy Bebop and I'll be in business!!!

Watched Summer Wars last night, freaking awesome. Its like matrix meets FLCL. Really awesome story and great animation and funny as well. I laughed a few times and most anime these days even if its supposed to be funny doesnt make me laugh.

It was a little too short. I wish they made it longer and delved into and expanded on what happened after he saved Ai. I hope they make an anime sequel to that short series.

Another anime series that I'd wish they'd finish, that is totally outside of the romantic genre is "Sword of the Berserker." That was an awesome series, though it got kind of weird at the end.

Battle angel Alita is another one that I'd wish they'd finish, and I hope James Cameron adopts it to film soon!

I've been watching Witchblade. Happy so far. Masane is a trip.

Is High School of the Dead like Ikki Tousen with zombies? Or does it have more substance than that?
