I don't really think High School of the Dead held up substance wise. I stopped watching around episode 7 or so. I think it started off great but then devolved into boring storylines and too much fan service, and I am a man who loves my fan service but it seemed to take priority in this one.

I haven't seen Ikki Tousen so I can't compare, action's probably similiar though.

I thought witchblade was ok, but not great, high school of the dead is definitely worth the watch

I really didn't like Witchblade. I guess I was too into the real comic.

Is High School of the Dead available on Blu ? I don't even see the DVD on Amazon.

Which Ikki Tousen would you recommend for a newbie ?

Have nay seen any of it, so I can't help you there. :monkey1

I would recommend Panty+Stocking with Garterbelt to anybody though. Just finished it up and the 1st season wrapped up last December. It was one of the freshest things I've watched in awhile, and the episodes play out in two 10-12 minute minisodes so it's very easy to watch. It's rude, crude, sexy, and action-packed, it had everything I wanted.

Yeah Ive been watching Corpse Princess as well and also started Casshern last night.

I like Cassherns look, its got that really gritty scratchy thick bold lined look like the old anime shows from the 70's. So far the story is so so, but pretty intersting. Theres alot of good anime on netflix instant right now.

Been watching Soul Eater at Netflix lately. I like the absurd humor!
Now if only SlamDunk is released on Blu-Ray. :monkey2

corpse princess feels like a mix between blood+ and boogie pop phantom

Yeah, so far Corpse Princess is intersting. It does remind me of Blood, Ive never seen boogie pop, but with a name like that I can only imagine the wonky style. It sorta reminded me of that FLCL/Soul Eater type with the wild expressions and sometimes very rough sketchy drawings.

Man, it's been ages since I've last watched an anime. I primarily just read manga and manhwa now because they save so much time. That said, are there any anime movies, not series, that came out recently that are good?

I don't know about recently recently, but I had just watched "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time" and "Summer Wars" last year, both very good, though they're both a couple years old now.

Most recently I watched "Tales of Earthsea" from Studio Ghibli, this one done by Hayao Miyazaki's son. I don't know when exactly it was released, but I picked it up at Blockbuster in the New Releases last week. I have to watch it again as I was a little distracted the 1st time, but it's a tale of wizards and swords and such if you like those.

I've already seen the new Studio Ghibli movie. I will check out the the first two movies you mentioned. Thanks.:duff
