Mignola just said a few weeks ago that Universal will only green light a sequal IF the movie does well enough at the box office. Universal is banking on big numbers from this movie. They are expecting much larger numbers than HB1 did.

Nothing has been written or signed yet about any kind of sequal. If a sequal is given the "go ahead" it will be with out Del Toro. He already has his next few projects already lined up, some he can't even talk about yet. He said he would still produce the movie but could not direct and co-write the movie.

Hmmm... that sounds less promising Although I have a feeling there is more of a fanbase now for Hellboy so I could see the sequel doing well. I'll be there for the theatrical release, didn't see the original in the theater

I don't remember much , but man the movie was awesome anyway just watch it again to find out

I've just been reading the background of abe sapien and found a few things out I never knew ( forgive me if these are noob facts in the hellboy world ).
Abe spaien is named after Abraham Lincoln seeing as though the container he was found in was labeled the with the date he died , april 14th 1865.
My birthday is april 14th and also happens to be the day the titanic sunk too.
It can also sometimes land on easter. A very strange and quite important date in history indeed. I have found all these facts together on the same date a little peculiar , don't you think ?.

Apparently Abe doesn't consider himself much of a problem solver when ironically as we know hes psychic .
The date was 1978 when he official joined the BPRD and became a key member of hellboys group.

I was also reading in empire that there was talk of a BPRD spin off movie but I really didn't get this when the hellboy movie is based around them anyway.
But I would love Abe to get his own movie.

Also the new member of the team DR.JOHANN STRAUSS apparently really gets on with abe in the new movies and is going to be an appealing character.
I really like the comic book approach there taking with these movies.
There not making them too " hollywood " if you get what I mean.

Hope some of that information is interesting to some of you.
Oh and guess what , on april 14th I , my birthday and abes I guess. I will be having a tattoo of something hellboy related !!.
