Exactly. It is likely a guarantee that TT will make one.
Having seen Bee, do you all think that the rest of the mini-bots have a chance? I mean, Bee comes with Spike to justify the price, I get that. But what about the others? A two pack, perhaps?
I really would like to see Powerglide!
I wouldn't take anything 100% for granted but am reasonably confident an official one will happen eventually.
Some have speculated that the reason it hasn't happened already is because Lamborghini have a problem with the custom nature of Sunstreaker's alt mode as it's not a stock Countach.
Assuming that is even true, the simple way round that is to make the alt mode the same size and proportions as Sideswipe but with Sunstreaker's transformation and robot mode and just make the turbocharger a clip on extra. Lamborghini didn't have any problem with the gun clipping onto Sideswipe's roof so a turbocharger isn't likely to be a problem.
Bumblebee was the easy option for the first Minibot as he's the most popular, his alt mode is easily recognisable and still works without the Chibi proportions.
If they're going to do the others then there's questions about what style to go with,
Cliffjumper = Has a few vague similarities with a Porsche 924. If his alt mode is done in the same realistic, fully licensed style as Bumblebee he would look nothing like G1 Cliffjumper. And looking like the "ultimate" fusion between the G1 cartoon and toys is kind of the point of the Masterpiece line.
Huffer = Takara should give Cubex some cash for their Huff molds and release that as MP Huffer with suitably improved QC on the paint apps and hip joints because I don't think it's possible to make a better Huffer in that scale. Even with the QC issues I put it in the top 5 Masterpiece style designs currently available.
Brawn = His alt mode wasn't quite as Chibi-fied as others but some say he's a Land Rover and others a Jeep. Do Takara go for either license, or keep the alt mode generic?
Windcharger = Same problem as Cliffjumper. If he turned into a realistic looking Trans Am he'd look nothing like G1 Windcharger.
Gears = Nobody knows what truck he turns into and if the G1 design was scaled up to fit the MP line it'd look a bit crap.
Beyond series 1 and their repaints I think the most likely Minibot to be released is Wheelie, particularly if they do a run of '86 movie characters to go with Ultra Magnus.
Ideally I'd like to see them all as I love Cosmos, Warpath and the others, I'm just not sure whether Takara will consider all of them to be viable in terms of sales potential.
