I kinda hope he's the one working on Galvatron if they're making one. Knee issues aside I love the look of Rodimus.

In the new interview he mentions his favorite era is "2010" which in the West is the 3rd series of the cartoon so maybe that's why he's getting another stint on the Masterpiece line, it'd make sense to have the companies resident fanboy of those characters involved.

QC issues and fiddly transformation aside Rodimus hit all the right marks aesthetically and although I have issues with it Ultra Buttflap isn't a disaster so if he does Galvatron and some of the other series 3 characters I think they'll be fine.

He doesn't specify which line but would love the chance to make a new Kup "with it's G1 alt mode" which can be interpreted as either a Masterpiece or a Classics toy as the latter occasionally stays true to the original designs.

He also expresses a fondness for Sharkticons and Arcee is obviously very close to his heart as he made a custom that won him a contest at Botcon Japan '98 that helped get him the job with Takara a year later and pestered his bosses to be given the job of designing the Classics one.

Doesn't mean those will actually happen but it's still nice to get an idea of what characters the people making the stuff we spend our money on would like to do.

In addition to fighting to keep Classics Arcee as G1 as possible he also mentions that Takara originally wanted to update MP Grimlock's alt mode to a more modern interpretation of a T-rex but he made another stand as he felt that fans would want it to be as close to the original cartoon as possible....I like how he thinks.

Oh for sure. I don't have one yet but I keep eyeing Black Rodimus. He takes a mold I already like and improves it (to me) with colors I adore.

So I did pick up a MP Black Rodimus and bought the replacement knees from Robot Kingdom. I fear I have stepped down a dark path into MP world. I have avoided them thus far. Fortunately I kinda only want to get black MP figures. So I have Skywarp (the first one), G2 Sideswipe, and now Black Rodimus. May also want to pick up Soundblaster and Black Convoy.

Thanks a lot For some reason my Ebay searches keep missing results on my laptop lately I've ordered 2 sets. One for the regular MP09 and one for the MP09B I'm yet to pick up.

Dedguy I don't own SoundBlaster but have Black Convoy and Hasbro MP10. Black Convoy is by far my favourite of the two, with really nice glossy paint. Definitely worth picking up if you're only interested in black variants.

Anyone here got the KO of Ratbat? Is the quality good or close to the original? I want to get Ratbat but don't want/need to buy Soundblaster just to have it. I saw there was a KO but I'm not into buying 3rd party or KO's so this will be first if ever the quality is good.

It feels no different to my offical cassettes and at only 20 bucks shipped was really good value.
I say take the plunge

In other news Kapow have MP Bumblebee in stock. I should have mine by Wednesday at the latest

I've got the KO Ratbat. Don't have the original to compare it to though. It looks good next to the official tapes and fits in well with my MPs. There are some flaws, such as a couple of small sprue marks and one of the rockets on his back is slightly misaligned. The fixes are listed here:

Also don't let those pictures scare you off, that is definitely a lot worse than the one I received.

The only KO I've ever had issues with was one of the Lambo's and that was due to a **** seller letting the 'bot get curbstomped. It was pretty offsetting, but I got over it and have had no issues since then.

Good to know KO Ratbat's worth the money, I think I'll have a punt and see what it's like, it's a cheaper option than buying a Soundblaster I don't really want.

Are they good? First time I'm hearing about them. Their price is competitive vs bbts, Bumblebee ends up being $80 shipped (with coin and extra faceplate).

Yeah Chimung is very well regarded. They often have stuff other stores are sold out of as well. I prefer buying from US retailers even if it costs slightly more (simply because it gets to me faster). Chimung is always my backup option.
