Agreed there. I LOVE Galvatron, and I can't wait for him to get the MP treatment.

The thing is, even if you know it's basically Megatron "re- engineered" you don't think that way, because both have such different personalities.

That's pretty cool, I generally don't pick up the other scales, but do have the triple changers, this might make a nice massive centerpiece with them.

I will say, despite being a big fan of Megatron as gun I do like that Megasteel Megatron. He almost looks like a citybot with all the guns all over him.

Read at TFW2005 that white MP-10 KO is available on ebay. I really like what I see and kinda feel disappointed that MP UM is not offered as an MP-10 mold with add-on armor.

Would be a troubling precedent if Takara's MP line started taking extensive artistic license by changing the alt form for an otherwise G1-accurate Megs. I hope they don't ever do such a terrible thing.

One of the biggest factors in the success of the Masterpiece line is nostalgia for the original G1 designs and since the reboot Takara have prided themselves on increasing levels of accuracy to the animation models and have also fitted in elements of the G1 toys where possible.

For them to abruptly abandon that approach and start making Masterpieces of crappy IDW artwork that nobody has any nostalgia for would see the line die a quick death....which is why it won't happen.

Anyway, according to the "insiders" MP25 will no longer be Megatron, the latest BS is that MP25 and MP26 will be Ironhide & Ratchet

They weren't actual Masterpiece molds though, they were rereleases of Leader Class toys from the main movie line in Masterpiece packaging and with "premium" paint apps.

The lack of additions with subsequent movie lines would indicate they didn't do very well.

They are unfortunately washing their hands with issues as they are an untrusted company they are taking no responsibility for QC problems but they are making this clear from the outset.
I am sorely tempted at the moment as no new news from Takara since the Exhaust announcement that really is no more than just a "look we need to milk the mold so here's a character we essentially made up just for that reason" means that I'm definitely considering this, QC issues or not he can't be worse than MP05

The latest scaremongering crap I've seen evidence of was that the news about Marlboro dropping the legal hammer on Takara and preventing Exhaust being sold by US import stores also means that a potential MP Mirage won't have the Gitanes logo on the side and that Jazz won't have the Martini branding

Gitanes are a French tobacco company who may not have the same issues with their logo appearing on a toy that Marlboro do and Takara's very close buddies Tomy have already released this,


Looks kind of familiar doesn't it?

£85 is almost tempting but with X-Transbots QC record I don't think I'm going to chance it.

I think MP Bumblebee is starting to ship in Asia so he'll be out shortly and the Takara release date for Ultra Buttflap is a few days after Christmas so it'll hit in January.

The rumors might be a bit more credible if the language used wasn't full of such hyperbole, every one sounds like someone saying "He tell me!"

Based on what's happened with the past few reveals I think the place to watch is Big Bad Toy Store as they seem to have some kind of genuine source. If they suddenly put up a pre-order for the next couple of Masterpieces and they're....whoever then I'd be more inclined to believe them.

I would have preferred if Smokescreen hadn't had the phony logos as it would have resembled the toy AND the cartoon a lot better and was prepared for Wheeljack to not have the Alitalia branding so it was an awesome suprise when I first saw Wheeljack painted.

Jazz isn't really a favorite of mine but that doesn't mean I don't want him doing right and if a Masterpiece does happen at some point I would prefer the Martini branding to be on it and I think it will be as one of the Takara designers mentioned in an interview that licensing had become easier thanks to Tomy's Tomica line.

The QC issues I've read about was largely to do with dubious plastic quality. The thread at TFW for their most recent release ( Ollie AKA Wheelie ) mentioned the tolerances weren't great and that in some cases bits needed shaving off in order for everything to fit properly.

I know online criticisms tend to get blown out of proportion but there were too many comments about the QC for it to be all BS and considering how much bigger and complex Appolyon is there's obviously more room for stuff to go wrong.

Ouch! I think I'll pay up as soon as I get my e-mail as it sounds like Nippon-Yasan will send the boys round if I don't

On TFW there's been a translation of a new interview with Hironori Kobayashi who mentions that he designed Classics Arcee. He also says that he had to fight to keep the alt mode G1 accurate as Hasbro wanted to change it.

You should get the Diecast knee replacements for Roddy.

I got some and it makes a world of difference.
