That Soundwave is UUUUUUGGGLLY.

Agreed :lol

The one saving grace these types of repaint have is that someone, somewhere will actually buy them so Takara will make some cash that can be used towards new stuff.

If they want to do a repaint that doesn't suck I suggest an MP10 with the same metallic red and blue finish that the Kidslogic Super Deformed Prime has.

I feel like an *****. I totally thought you were talking about Soundblaster. Yes the Year of the Goat is a random repaint and yes it's hideous.

I've got zero use for that Daniel that comes with Bumblebee.

I think mine will get looked at, transformed a couple of times and then put back in the box.

It's not that I don't like it but because of how my display is set up there's not really anywhere for it to go.

If Takara made a Masterpiece Arcee, or a better Hot Rod that scaled with the other cars, I'd have more reason to display the exosuit as it'd go well with those characters, but it'd look out of place on my series 2 shelf.

I wonder if he'll show up on eBay loose since it seems like a fair number of people don't want him. I pretty much only want him.

I'm sure he will be. I actually do plan on selling mine unless he somehow blows me away in hand. It does make some sense that there would be a market for just him of folks who are getting Ultra Magnus and Rodimus.

I don't really have anything to display him with, I just think he's a cool figure.

I got MP Bumblebee today, and the paint is a different shade of yellow for different parts of the car. This really sticks out on the hood, where one half is darker than the other. Is this a commonly reported problem with these? I'm hoping it's not as noticeable once he's transformed.

It seems that it's fairly common thing. Different parts are made from different plastics and the paint has reacted differently.

It's reminiscent of what happened with Sideswipe so it's possible that VW insisted that Takara use their actual car paint again in which case there's not really anything that could be done....after finally getting the VW Group to play ball they're not going to risk pissing them off by refusing any of their conditions.

On the bright side it's apparently not as noticeable in robot mode.

I wonder why they wouldn't use the same plastic for two nearly identical parts on the hood? It actually looks as if they didn't apply the paint uniformly.

Maybe there's been a combination of errors?

EDIT
I did a bit of reading on TFW and it seems that similar issues have occurred on previous yellow Transformers including the various versions Classics Bumblebee so as silly as it sounds, the color of the paint might be more problematic than others.

Which doesn't explain why Tigertrack was fine....so who knows? :lol

I got my Bumblebee about half an hour ago and there don't seem to be any issues with the consistency of the finish, but the difference in the yellow on certain parts is present. If it's like the Classics mold I think the parts with the car windows and roof are cast in clear plastic and the rest in regular yellow.

I haven't transformed it yet as I want to do some alt mode pics with my other cars and am waiting for my camera battery to charge. Initial impressions of the alt mode are good, between this and BadCube's efforts I think I've become more accustomed to realistic alt modes for Minibots but still have major doubts about how good Cliffjumper will look as his alt mode was so Chibified that it was virtually unrecognisable from the real thing.

The smiley face in the package has a paint bubble on it that makes it look like he's got acne so I'll use the other one for now and then see if I get a better one when I get my double to keep in alt mode. The battle mask looks decent.

The exosuit arms have a tendency to pop off every time I look at it but it's nice enough for what it is. Scale wise it just about works with iGear Arcee so it'll go next to her for the time being.

I got another package from Kapow at the same time which contained the Brawn & Outback set plus the Quintesson Journal with extras that only came with the 2-pack.

Alt modes are excellent and Brawn's ridiculous drill attachment is one of my favorite add ons, as a nod to how the original cartoon raised a middle finger to the laws of physics and had devices appear from nowhere it's perfect.

I'll post more thoughts later when I've transformed everything and done some pics.

I got around to transforming Bumblebee last night, and the paint mismatch issues faded into the background when I saw how awesome he looks in bot mode. The face looks a bit "soft" and odd in most pics, but in hand it looks very good, and he really fits in perfectly with the other MP figures. Very cool little guy.

Please tell us how awesome Daniel is.

All things transformers!!!!

I thought it already came out? I haven't seen any reviews for it. Fran, who did you order from? BBTS?

I used RobotKingdom buddy. I know some got theirs already, but not this guy.

I'm going to post a lot of pics of this guy once I get him. I better after paying almost a grand for him.
