Man, the damn TFs hook a guy back in quick - grabbed magnus and scoria, gonna do soar and bumblebee this week...really, REALLY hope Apollyon turns out as good as the pic looks, it looks head and shoulders above MP-05 (which I have).

The sad part is, I'd love to give Sideshow my $$$ but their awful QC has chased me off.

At this point I'm strongly considering taking a gamble with X-Transbots despite most of their past releases having dodgy build quality as I'm fed up of waiting for Takara.

Don't feel bad about not giving Sideshow your cash, I abandoned ship 6-7 years ago for much the same reasons and have never once considered trying again.

So I've just ordered KFC Transister/Blaster which looks stunning and I'm there thinking; I've got hardly any Decepticons in my collection. Soundwave, Shockwave and a few tapes vs 7 Autobots. Apollyon can't come quick enough.
Anyone have an idea when he's due to land?

I've read at the end of the month. But realistically, probably after CNY.

I also have him on pre-order, but I won't hesitate to cut him loose if the quality is subpar.

This new offering from Gigapower looks phenomenal. Metallic paint looks outstanding and in this release 90% of the body will be painted (as opposed to colored plastic as can be seen with Scoria and Grimlock.

It looks stunning :) what's the General consensus here? I'm thinking of getting Giga Power Snarl, fanstoys Swoop (red) and Slag. The scale isn't as jarring as I though between the two offerings?

Both the Gigapower and Fans Toys Snarl look fantastic - I think I''ll go Fans Toys since I'm going that direction for MP Dinobots.

I'm planning on going Gigapower all the way provided their final product is solid. I like Swoop, but Giga's plan for Swoop looks more detailed (see below). I haven't heard a single bad thing about Fanstoys' Swoop though, so really want to see more pics of Giga's other offerings (and see some reviews).

I have no intrest in what Giga Power are doing.

Guttur's robot mode has the same bloated look that put me off MP22 and the whole thing is very lazily designed in some areas, particularly when you look at how FT hide the dinosaur legs in robot mode....Giga Power just leave them hanging off the side like an oversized G1 KO.

I also think the gold paint looks crap compared to the chrome that FT use and think that fully painting 90% of the toy is a stupid move that will severely increase the chance of QC issues particularly when painted parts rub together.

In this particular instance I don't think that bigger equals better and if their Swoop is as detailed as the line art then it will look more like a Classics toy than something that's meant to fit in with a Masterpiece display.

The 2 headsculpts on Guttur and the one on the art for whatever they're calling Swoop are also poor and the clear plastic flame add ons look as tacky as they always do.

In short = FT win. By a f'ing mile.

I would also question whether Giga Power will get enough sales on their early releases to ensure they can fund the whole set particularly if the QC isn't up to scratch....which it probably won't be if they follow through with the insanity of painting so much of the figure.

The alt modes of the Wave 1 Legends class Combiner Wars figures are nice! I especially like Powerglide and Bombshell because I think they look most like their G1 counterparts.

Windcharger is definitely the worst one out of the wave, but you'll hear why when the review is posted! Stay tuned!

Different strokes for different folks. I love the detailing on Gigapower's offering however the one drawback for me has to be whether they actually complete the set. The scale is bang on for masterpiece comic inspired consistency purposes.
Again I'm probably going to mix and match. The only lame duck in this equation is Takara's mini ME Grinlock. He's a feckin midget.
Without doubt Grimlock, whoever designs him first need him to be the biggest a of the lot :)

I think the fact that it is fully painted (well, 90%) and the legs being closer to G1 then cartoon accurate in Robot mode are pushing me to Fans Toys (plus they have a track record), but if this one matches the Proto F it, why not just by both? :lol

Fans toys also had to start somewhere.

I'm giving GP the benefit of of the doubt until I get this in hand (or read comments on it). The size on this guy is exactly how I'd expect a Dinobot to be. FansToys Scoria looks like a bit of a midget compared to it!

I like the painted gold more than the plastic "chromed" look. The latter is cool as a throwback to the older figure, but also looks a bit cheap. But I think there is room for improvement with the gold paint being used there.

So there are listings for

MP 25 Tracks

MP 26 Tracks red repaint

Mp 27 IronHide
