Soundwave turns into a satellite (cybertron mode), and both he and Ravage take form of a truck in earth mode... which is what I was saying.

That tiny thing seems like it could quite well be Frenzy. Same chest, same kind of neck...Just a lot smaller, thinner and with a different head then the concept art. Could be something else, but my guess is that it's Ravage, so either the truck is Soundwave after all or it will be unused altogether.

Nope, same general style, completely different details. Very weird, and it'd be a shame if that IS Ravage, I much prefer the one from that (dropped) concept art, very nasty looking.

I like how imposing he looks, but damn, he really does need longer legs to make him truely menacing.

fair point, but the movie designs really look quite different than any previous incarnation of Transformers. Alt modes should still look more or less like what they're supposed to be (truck, car, tank, etc.) The one from the pic above looks like an air/spacecraft of some sort, along the lines of Megatron in the first movie.

Perhaps Galvatron?

Judging by these latest shots it appears Grimlock will look pretty awesome displayed with either the other Masterpieces OR the Classics/Universe/Henkei toys which should make that awful Deluxe version totally redundant.

Indeed it is. I'm pleasantly suprised that Takara went to the trouble of making a whole new set of G1 accurate wings as opposed to the straight repaint of Ramjet that Botcon Dirge was and if it wasn't for the dodgy blue & white stripes on them the Henkei version would be a perfect upgrade of the G1 original.
